“This is a disappointed place. ”
My family stayed here from Nov 14, 2014 to Nov 21, 2014. The beach and the sea are full of seaweed, difficult to walk on the beach or in the water. A tractor clean the beach everyday but seaweed is everywhere. I lost my wristband in the sea, the front desk charged me 5 CUC. I feel uncomfortable because it was not my fault, wristband is like paper sticker, very ease to loss. I saw a long list who lost their wristband in front desk. We have told that the last day morning we will receive a morning call @ 4:45, a breakfast at snack bar @5:00, the bus will leave @5:30. But no morning call, no breakfast that morning. More than 10 people sitting in the lobby complaining and leave with empty stomach. This is my second trip to Cuba. the first trip was in Hotel Villa Cuba, Varadero. Compare to Villa (4 star), Brisas Santa Lucia at most 3 star (only room better than Villa). I like the Cuban music in Villa because there was a band playing live music in the bar in daytime. Brisas play loud music in the area of swimming pool. At dining time in buffet, a band plays table by table for tips. A fiddler disturb people in the bar, it was disgusting. They do have a "À la carte", I called the menu "no choice". Don't waste your time and tips there. We are not negative people, we try to enjoy good time together. We will never back to Santa Lucia. To be honest, this hotel is good for people who like stay around swimming pool or play kite surfing in the sea.

      “Not What We Expected ”
First off let me say that my wife and I usually try to outweigh the negatives with positives at these resorts and I think we've always come out ahead in that department. Now I understand that some people, like us in the past, will read a negative review and then go to the resort and wonder what the person was talking about. Well now I understand that. Brisas Santa Lucia is one tired resort. Serious updating is required here. Our room and maid was the biggest problem. There was a toothpaste drip at face level on the bathroom mirror and beard shavings in the sink that we left as a test to see if this maid would clean. They were still there when we left so basically she just made the beds and that was is it. There is no temperature control in the room. Air conditioning is on at all times unless you want to switch the breaker off in the panel. Every towel we got had some sort of stain on them ranging from what looked liked blood to oil. The walls are peeling and bubbling, Theres no consistantcy at this resort. Its a mish mash of lights, fixtures, outlets, clothing you name it, The entertainment staff seems to "wing it" and need to be sent to another resort or training of some sort. They are all nice people but just don't seem to know what they are doing. The money exchange is abit weird. They say it is open everyday to exchange money but we spent almost two days trying to change money to spend at the kiosks on the resort. When I finally did the woman was looking puzzled at one of the new Canadian 20's I gave her. She was pointing at the Queens face and then put some solution on it and started rubbing it. She pointed out an ink mark that was so faint you really had to look for it. She wouldn't accept it!! So I thought right then that the Cuban economy must be so good now that they don't need me to spend my money on gifts there and that's what I told her. Ok there were some good points as well. The coffee and drinks were excellent some of the best we've had in the Carribean. The staff are very friendly and most speak understandable English which is really nice. The beach is just ok as there is lots of seaweed that's raked everyday but a huge task to keep up. The benefit of that is snorkelling is pretty good just a short wade out into the water and from what we were told the snorkelling trips are inexpensive and very worthwhile. The food was good but nothing special. I found it to be the same as any other place we've been to in Cuba. The puzzling thing for me was the repeat customers. Some have been there 8 or 9 times. I think I read a review here that said 18 times. I just didn't get that someone would go back to this place more than once. I suspect its because of the snorkelling. But like I said many will read this review and go this guy is nuts its nothing like that !! LOL Believe me I understand that however our experience at Brisas Santa Lucia was not horrible but it was the worst we've had.

“Nice staff, nice rooms (in need of update) POOR food ”
The location is nice, the property is in urgent need of a face lift. About half of the dining room is kept dark (probably to save energy - but it is not a pleasent atmosphere) the food is really lacking. Only one specialty restaurant is open, the food is not tasty (went on 2 different nights - Italian then sea food) I will not opt to return there.

      “The best in the area”
Nice beach, Quiet area. There is very little external amenities. Basic services but there is decent scuba diving and you can even see bull sharks if you want. There used to be a nice discotheque outside the resort but at one time is was shutdown for a while. I don't know if it was ever re-opened

“They call it a 3.5 Star, I call it a four star for sure* ”
Carrie Mesoftly I just came back and had a very nice time. This was my first time ever to Cuba, and it took a couple of days to get into it but once i did really enjoyed myself. I am looking to book my next vacation back to Brisas for end of Novemeber next year, so that I can be there for the Anniversary Celebration as we left the morning of it and missed it this year. The staff is amazing and the entertainment and food is divine and the massage amazing ... again my first time. I would recommend this location to anyone who wants a lot of value for their money. I know I got mine ! ****

      “Simple, but cool lol ”
Was at this resort couple of years ago. Will soon be back. Snorkeling is super. Food is simple, but totally save for the stomach lol. People are really friendly both in and outside of resort. The best is the beach... It was my first trip to Caribbean, but after 7 more different place ot Cuba, Mexico, Dominica I still remember THAT sunrise, THAT whitest sand, THAT palm trees... Love at first sight? Maybe... If you are into fancy rooms - don't go here. The place is really simple, and it will spoil it to you. But if you into snorkeling, checking out real Cuban life outside of resort - this is the place to try. Good luck!

      “Great trip ”
The weather was fabulous. The beach had seaweed but got cleaned up twice a day.. Staff are phenomenal and very friendly. Food was very good but the same food every day at the buffet so might need some variety from day to day but I did not starve and the a la carte were good portion sizes too. Lucky that the hotel was quiet as we got better service and did not have to fight lineups. Hola Sun offered a free excursion to a ranch and it was a fun day with a great pork BBQ lunch.

      Nice
We got a nice and relaxing vacation. The resort hasn't been so busy, so people said there are less attractions. We liked it more not being crowded. At Brisas Santa Lucia Hotel, People are friendly and are generally very nice (also gifts and tips are welcomed and help). The weather was excellent. If you are not so picky with the food I would recommend this resort 80% and maybe the best in Santa Lucia.

      Brisas Santa Lucia
Hola Sun was dishonest in that they did not disclose pool was closed. Promised Camaguey trip was not given. Staff are allowed to smoke in kitchen. Buffet was closed for dinner and Italian restaurant became repetitive. Attended for first time in March 2009, and resort has gone downhill each time. Horse riding, scuba and carriage ride to Coco Beach for lobster are good. Book lobster with one of operators out front. This is all about Brisas Santa Lucia

      was an amazing
My Husband and I went to Camaguey Cuba, Be Live Brisas Santa Lucia May 11-18 2011. The trip was absolutely amazing and there is very little to complain about this trip at all except for our first room which was BROKEN. Anyways, so our week was filled with fun, excitement and relaxation. The Entertainment staff is amazing (Rawly,Froggy = amazing). We went horseback riding (far end of our beach for 50 pesos = 4 people for almost 2 hours)& it was the best ride I have ever been on during a vacation, the horses weren’t tried and famished, they were energetic and very healthy. We also went on the King Ranch Excursion which was so worth the 29 pesos as we saw a Rodeo, went horseback riding, pole fished for Tilapia, visited a village and school and ended our trip with a Pig Roast! Another trip was to Playa Bonita which was worth the $ even though it was more costly as it was almost a full day of Catamaran, snorkeling and beach relaxation with a fresh Cuban lunch and beverage. We had amazing lobster dinners, one was offered by a Local by the name of Santi who took us down the beach to a white Cuban style home where we paid 10 pesos for a wonderful meal. We also arranged a horse and carriage ride which cost us 15 pesos for the ride there and back, he brought us to see the Flamingo’s and then to Coco Beach where we had a wonderful Pina Colada and then we were taken to a beautiful local Cuban home that was very modern and had the BEST Lobster dinner I have ever had. The Lobster was bigger than my head and it was served with Plantain chips, rice, tomatoes and cucumber. No drinks were offered but the driver went to the local bar and got us all a coke and beer each for 1 pesos per drink so I couldn’t complain at all. Afterward we had a beautiful horse and carriage ride back will full bellies and enjoyed the sun setting over the ocean! By far this resort was better than the other three on the strip and the food was also much better! The entertainment was wonderful, the food was great and the atmosphere was just simply relaxing and filled with fun memories. I would go back to Be Live Brisas Santa Lucia in a heartbeat!!!

This Cuban resort is not too bad...rooms are nice and quite clean, the pool is fine and the night shows are fantastic. The food is ok(even if not so various) and the animation is good. We spent 4 nights and apart from the weather we can say the price is well worthed.

Brisas Santa Lucia: Directly on the wonderful beach of Santa Lucia and surrounded by tropical vegetation, the hotel Brisas Santa Lucia has an intimate feel to it. The 314 standard rooms all come with air conditioning and satellite TV. The friendly staff, good food and excellent facilities offered by Brisas Santa Lucia make it one of the most popular hotels in Santa Lucia. The hotel is situated about 90 minutes by car from the old colonial town of Camagüey and its international airport.

Wife and myself stayed at this hotel and had a great time getting to know the areas around the resort and the wonderful cuban people. We enjoyed good wheater ,beautiful beaches ,great service ,delicious cocktails and 5 a-la-carte restaurant with good food that any person with some 'world',culture, education or exposure to other ways of life other than burgers and hot dogs would appreciate.Cuba is a amaizingly beautiful country full of good poeple who work hard to give you a very good impression of their island, even when some of the supplies era sometimes lacking. Beautiful grilled fish,Paella with lobster, lovely seafood.Cheerfool staff.nice excursions on catamaran or horse and buggie.profesional managers and courteous tratment of the guests. Excellent service by lifegards at the ocean and pool. The team that clean the beach everymorning young man(Randy) and his father are as nice and efficient as humanly posible This is the 4 hotel of this chain (BRISAS)that we tried and i think this one as much as the ones in Guedalavaca,Santiago, and Varadero I will back Brisas Santa Lucia
