  • Description Classic Old Cabriolet Cars Tours Havana: Chevrolet Deluxe 1949 Cabriolet, Havana . Cuba

Taking in the essential sights of Havana in a Chevrolet Deluxe 1964, a Classic American Car used by Beyonce, the famous singer during her staying in Havana in 2013, in this city tour captures the colonial spirit of Cuba’s remarkable capital city. Dating back to the 16th century, Old Havana is steeped in history and flanked by old colonial buildings. You also can take you on a unique panoramic drive along the Malecon promenade towards Morro Cabana (Castle). The castle guards the entrance to Havana’s harbour and offers magnificent views across to the Havana skyline. Continuing by Old American car along the length of the Malecon, there will be an absorbing drive through Miramar, which is an elegant area of the city with large colonial mansions, now housing many Embassies. We then return to Revolution Square. This is a highly significant landmark in Havana and overlooked by the famous Che Guevara Mural. A stop shall be made at the Jose Marti memorial and some time will be allowed for you to walk around the area before driving through the heart of Havana to the Parque Central hotel where the tour sadly ends!

  • Chevrolet Deluxe 1949 Cabriolet is located in Havana
  • Capital of Cuba and the country's administrative, political, cultural and scientific center, it is also the capital of two provinces: City of Havana and Havana. Though only around 280 square miles (727 square kilometers) in size-0.65 percent of the archipelago's total area.

The Old Havana and system of forts led UNESCO to declare it a part of world heritage in 1982. Founded on its present site in 1519, the settlement of San Cristobal de La Habana prospered mainly due to its bay, which was a natural port of call for ships sailing to and from the New World. Starting in 1634, because of its strategic location, San Cristobal de La Habana was considered the key to the New World-as attested to by royal letters patent-and the main defense of the West Indies.

The Cuban capital consists of an immense number of buildings in a wide range of architectural styles, built in the course of nearly five centuries. These styles range from the pre-baroque to the baroque, neo-Gothic, neoclassical, eclectic, art noveau and art-deco, to the modern.

Alejo Carpentier, one of Cuba's most famous authors, called it "the city of columns" and focused attention on its streets, which he considered a perennially rich show of life, humanity and contrasts that was bound to entertain any observer.

Over 14 kilometers of excellent beaches lie to the east of the Cuban capital. To the south, a green belt contributes to a healthful atmosphere.

guide tour Old American Car tour
Our Havana taxi tour is the complete package. You get to explore areas of the city which most foreigners do not even know existed. The goal of our Havana taxi tour is to give tourists a well rounded image of what Havana and the surrounding suburbs are really like. Havana Taxi Tour Route Summary Starting in Vedado: Malecon – Drive along the Havana Malecon and see the major waterfront hotels in the area, as well as the newly reopened United States Embassy. Further down the route, you will pass the Riviera hotel built by Meyer Lansky and the Melia Cohiba hotel. Take the 5th Avenue Tunnel into the Miramar and Playa neighborhoods of the city (Western Havana) where many large hotels, houses and foreign embassies are located. Fidel Castro himself actually lives in this part of the city. You will go all the way to the Russian embassy, the largest embassy in Cuba, and then start along 5th avenue, passing the embassies of Belgium, Italy, Switzerland and the future US embassy. You will also see the Park of 24th and 5th avenue with the big ficus trees, more than 100 years old. The tour now takes you to the Parque Josefina nature reserve located along the Almendares River. If you want, you can stop to take some photos of this scenic area. The tour continues, back into Havana, through the Nuevo Vedado neighborhood and passing the Colon Cemetery. The taxi will pass the famous Tulipan outdoor market. If you want, you can stop at the market for a bite to eat (the Cuban sandwiches are amazing and very inexpensive). The fresh juice at the market is also a “must try” item. The taxi continues driving through Revolution Square. Soon you will be in Central Havana. The taxi will take you along Carlos Tercero street, past China Town. The taxi arrives at the Capitolio building and you can take a quick photo break. You will see the Central Park and also the Prado Promenade. Taxis are not permitted into the main parts of Old Havana, so if you want to explore this area more, you should come back on foot. The taxi continues east, and you take the Tunnel under the Bay of Havana, into the neighborhood of Habana del Este. Here you can see the El Morro castle and the massive El Cristo statue which overlooks the bay. The taxi then takes you back to Havana, through the tunnel, and into the interior of the city. You will pass the derelict “4 Caminos” market and see the El Cerro neighborhood, one of the most populated in the city. At the end of the tour, you can choose to be let off wherever you want, or the driver can take you to your hotel of casa particular. Cost and Duration A tour like this lasts about 2 hours. The cost is 50 CUC if you take a yellow taxi (air conditioned, 4 passenger max) or a classic car taxi (no air conditioning, 5 passengers max). If you are a larger group, you might want to use a minivan taxi, (air conditioned, 7 passengers max) in which case the tour will cost 60 CUC.
