Arenas Doradas Hotel, Varadero Beach Cuba. 4 stars,

“Worse Varadero hotel ”
This hotel is by far the worse of all varadero hotels. The staff isn't nice at all. The food was almost the same. and there are a lot of stupid rules, for example you have to ask for some kind of paper to have beach towels, and a lot of more stupid rules. I really have a bad time there.

“Average ”
Upon arrival it took an hour to get our rooms, which is exhausting after a 7am flight. The front desk staff were virtually useless the entire week, they would talk to each other and ignore you, walk away while you wait, let Spanish speakers cut the line etc. Our friend had a leak in his ceiling and they weren't even able to tell him what day maintenance might look at it. They constantly refer you to customer service which is only open 9am to 12pm. Luckily not all the staff are like this, the pool bar staff are excellent as are many of the buffet staff. The buffet food was average, some stuff is gross but the fresh pasta is great. The Cuban restaurant was good and we heard the Italian was awesome, the Seafood restaurant was inedible (our group left our plates almost untouched and hopped a cab to Varadero). Cuban food off the resort was delicious, those who say it has no flavour probably never ate off the resort. The rooms leave much to be desired, though they are quite clean. The beds are very hard and it kind of sucked that my Husband and I had to sleep in separate beds that were pushed together. The grounds are beautiful, the beach was nice although the waves were too high for swimming most of our trip. We would be content to return but probably won't because there are so many options.

“Beach was the best! ”
This was my first time to Cuba, and did not know what to expect. The staff could of been nicer. The air conditioner sucked. The resort was clean and the beach was the best spot. No trouble finding a beach chair. Good cheap place for you and your friends but not as a couple.

“Back Again”
This was my third stay this year, this hotel is getting better every time. The rooms are clean and well maintained, the normal problems are taken care of in a short time. The staff are helpful and go out of their way to try to please. I am returning in Jan, and trying to book a Xmas holiday but seem to run into no rooms at the Hotel, sound familiar. A good bang for the buck. kirk

“Good experience ”
My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon at this resort and really enjoyed ourselves. Initially I was disappointed with some of the staff but there were far more positive experiences than negative! The room was perfect every day and we always got fresh towels and our daily bottle of water. The buffet staff were fabulous I found that once they recognized you they were bringing your drinks before you were even seated. The italian al a carte was AMAZING and I only wish we could have eaten in there every night. They have nightly entertainment that was a lot of fun. We have heard that the food in Cuba is not the best but I thought the selection was more than adequate at this resort. The only downside was the nightclub was under renovation but it should be up and running soon! We will definitely be booking our next trip at Roc Arenas Doradas!!

“Super duper holiday! ”
This is our third time at this resort and once again the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. From the staff at the front desk to the clean ladies and to the bartenders and waiters, thank you for your excellent service. This hotel might be about thirty years old but everything is keep very clean, the hotel ground are very tidy, so are the hotel rooms and the beach is by far the one of the best in Varadero. . The variety of the food seems to get better every time we return with new products to satisfy different tastes. The only negative comment we would have is that the food at the buffet could be keep a little bit warmer. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

“Love love love love this vacation spot!!!!! ”
i had never been to Cuba before and before visiting I was given some rough information, but I am the type of person that I have find out for myself! From the first moment I walked into this hotel I was welcomed with amazing service, Ozneil was super friendly and so kind and made me feel comfortable with being there. He was more than helpful on making sure I was settled into my room in a decent amount of time after travelling for such a long time to get there. Unfortunately my room wasn't going to be ready for hours, but he kept checking on it so that I could get in as soon as possible. He went above and beyond the call of duty to make my first experience the best it could have been. The entire week I was there he always made a point of checking to see how my stay was going and if I needed any assistance from him! Daniel and Maladis at the pool bar.....I don't have words to say that would explain how those two were with me! They made me feel so comfortable being there that I'm excited to come back to see them over and over again! It didn't feel like I was a tourist, I felt like I was family! Ariel the bar tender constantly made me laugh. While there it was never about being made to leave tips.....you never were made to feel guilty to leave a tip!!! The service is so amazing that you want to leave the tips. The trio of musicians in the buffet restaurant just make you feel so relaxed with the songs they sing, it just tops off your day! All in all, this is an amazing resort and I couldn't have asked for a better place to have been, I'll be going back in the new year just because of how the staff made me feel....I couldn't have asked for anything more. Good Beaches
The Arenas Doradas Hotel, in the world-famous Cuban beach resort of Varadero, is located in a picturesque place near the beach and is surrounded by the colorful gardens that lead to Los Tainos beach, one of the best on the Caribbean Island. It is at a 25-minute drive from Varadero's international airport and a 10-minute drive from downtown. The establishment is characterized by its intrinsic Caribbean architecture, which is artistically combined with a strong Andalusian influence. In addition, the low construction of the establishment perfectly integrates with palm trees in their natural habitat, a picturesque swimming pool and an outdoor Jacuzzi.

My Family
We (my family of 4, kids 7 &10) stayed at this hotel in February. I cannot say enough about the place. It was well maintained. The grounds were cleaned on a daily basis and very early in the morning, so as not to disturb the guests. The staff could not have been more hospitable. They went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay. They are very welcoming and friendly. The beach.... what can I say except it is breath taking. And again the staff are wonderful. The entertainment is also exactly what it should be. The housekeeping staff go out of their way to avoid disturbing you. The food was not a favorite of my kids but they did not go hungry either. And the chefs in the main dining room were more than willing to try to please them. There was always something to be found. I cannot understand why anyone would complain about anything. I do understand that some people had some issues but once the front desk was notified they again went out of their way to help. I hope everyone enjoys this resort and Cuba as much as we did. We will be returning to this resort.

Arenas Doradas
We had a great time, good beach, good bars good resturants , laid back and relazed , staff were really good helpful, pleasant polite, made us feel at home . No one pestered you to buy stuff on the beach , plenty of activity if you wanted, good entertainment. out of 6 night 4 were above average, great piano player in the hotel lobby most evenings.Loved their bread and terrific breakfast grill.Some good buys at the Airports. Only other shop was the gift shop in the hotel which was Not overpriced, would I go back , Yes in a heart beat . Next time I would take one of the trips, this time was a chill out holiday could not tear myself away from the lovely white warm sand. W & D from Mississaga Canada.

Nice Hotel
I spent my honeymoon at this hotel, it was wonderful, I recommend it with a lot of enthusiasm, thanks and greetings.

Very Good
We had the best time and the people working at the Arenas are so friendly. The rooms are basic but very clean and the food was excellent. We would go back anytime
