José Martí International Airport (IATA: HAV, ICAO: MUHA), sometimes known by its former name Rancho-Boyeros Airport, is located 15 km (9 mi) southwest of Havana, Cuba, and is a hub for Cubana de Aviación, Aerogaviota, and Aero Caribbean, and former Latin American hub for Aeroflot Soviet Airlines.[2] It is Cuba's main international and domestic gateway, and serves several million passengers each year. The airport lies in the municipality of Boyeros and connects Havana with the rest of the Caribbean, North, Central and South America, Europe, and one destination in Africa. It is named in memory of patriot and poet José Martí. In the 1960s the airport was bombed by B-26 aircraft from Brigade 2506, a CIA-sponsored group of Cuban exiles attempting to liberate Cuba from Fidel Castro. Cubans are not allowed to own aircraft or use the airport for either private or commercial flight. Only government-owned aircraft are allowed to use the facilities. There are currently four passenger terminals in use at the airport, plus a freight terminal.[3] Terminal 1 is used primarily for domestic flights. Terminal 2 opened in 1988, primarily for charter flights to the United States. Ten years later on April 27, 1998, the International Terminal 3 was opened by Canada's then-Prime Minister, Jean Chrétien, and former Cuban president, Fidel Castro. International Terminal 3 offers many modern facilities and jetways that the former international Terminal 1 did not provide. Terminal 5 is operated by Aerocaribbean. Today, Copa Airlines is the foreign airline with most flights to the airport, operating 34 flights a week (roughly 5 daily flights) from Panama City, Panama, and Bogota, Colombia. The airport is operated by Empresa Cubana de Aeropuertos y Servicios Aeronáuticos (ECASA).

“Good if you don't mind diarrhea ”
We stayed at this resort from Oct 18-25, 2014. The atmosphere was good, the beach had great snorkeling, the rooms were clean and comfortable. If you can avoid eating the food here, it would be paradise. Unfortunately the food tastes awful and made everyone in my party as well as everyone I talked to on the resort sick. After all the reviews I read before choosing this place, I did not expect what we got. The food was terrible. The food at the beach bar that everyone says is good is edible, but the burger was pure gristle. Even the fruits and vegetables were terrible as nothing was ripened. Tomatoes were green and pineapple was like bricks. i spent 2 days of this vacation in bed with stomach cramps, diarrhea and fever. We've been home for 3 days now and our doctor has put us on a strict clear fluids only diet. If you can take your own food, it would be a great resort.

      Poor Poor

“Fantastic beach, not so good service, terrible food!”
My parter and I stayed here for one week mid October. I booked a sea view suite prior our arrival via email, all which was confirmed. On arrival we were greeted by friendly reception staff and handed our keys etc. we were told to grab the bell boy to help us with our suitcases. We found him and told him our room number and his reply was ' that's easy it's just over there'. We walked on slightly confused as we had no idea where we were going. After 15 minutes of wheeling our suitcase around and asking a further 3 members of staff, who were not helpful and sent us in different directions, we eventually found our room. This was not a suite room with a sea view, instead it was a room overlooking the pool. We were sick of walking around without any help so we decided to just stick with it. Carrying a 25kg suitcase up the stairs wasn't the easiest job and the bellboy really should have helped us. During our week stay we found 50% of the staff very happy, friendly and helpful. The other 50% were not just miserable but extremely rude and we even had one waitress tut at us and gave us the death stare for just sitting down at a table in the restaurant! which we were very confused at. The older women seemed to be extremely friendly to regulars but us younger visitors were lucky to get our drinks with a smile and any ounce of friendly service at all. Staff are constantly on their mobile phones forgetting that they are actually at work. The hotel is dated and having no air con in the lobby and in the restaurant isn't a pleasurable experience. Staff were hit and miss and a lot were so engrossed in constant chatting they didn't see guests waiting for drinks for long periods. You felt like you were interrupting them to ask for a drink. Having no wifi was also really annoying as the internet room is literally useless and takes forever to load. The pool was fantastic and is a great sun trap. The snorkelling is FANTASTIC!! Free snorkel hire on the beach. Bring a large cooling cup as the cups here are very small. The food was the biggest disappointment with breezes. My partner and I are not fussy eaters in the slightest and we enjoy travelling around and eating all sorts of authentic food in many different countries. The food was at best extremely poor. All of the food was random and all vegetables floated in pools of water and were soggy and tasteless. There is no flow to the food and the cooking techniques of the same dishes were different every day. It is not the ingredients themselves, it is the way they are cooked. The chefs are clearly not trained at all, or should I say poorly trained if anything. You can tell the hash browns and potato croquettes were used from the previous morning as they tasted extremely stale and were cooked and cooled many times. The fresh pasta station was again very poor. The tomato sauce was so watery it didn't even colour the pasta and you were left with a plate full of orange water. The only saving grace was the freshly made omelettes for breakfast. I understand that Cuba can really only use local ingredients but the chefs need to be trained to cook properly. If it wasn't for the food we would be returning. It is extremely sad as we loved the location and the beach is beautiful but food is a big part of your holiday and when you dread your dinner there is an issue there. We wouldn't stay here again to our disappointment as we really wanted to like this place as it's in a great location. I don't want to sound too pessimistic but I need to be realistic and honest in saying that this is one of the best locations I've stayed at but the worst food I've ever had in my life. I hope management do something about this issue as many other guests we talked to felt exactly the same. We will keep and eye on other peoples thoughts and may return if there are changes to the restaurant. Whatever you do please go ahead and speak to reception staff and book a classic car to Havana, only 70 cuc which includes a driver and a guide who walks you through the city. Best deal ever! Your tour operator may advise you against this but it is fantastic!

“You get what you pay for ”
Nice facilities - dated but well maintained. Not the best layout of stores and restaurants. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Very isolated with not much to do in immediate area. Guests are canadian, british, german, italian and french. Found many guests to be stand- Offish and aloof. Not much entertainment planned. Food is sub-par. Not much variety and they would definitely not pass a health check in canada. Had "cold milk" that was served at about the same temperature as "hot soup". It was almost comical to watch them bastardize the bacon. Had spaghetti bolognese on first day - it was delicious and hearty. It was ser ed again on sunday. Line up was very long so had a bowl of soup. None left when I went back but said it would be 2 minutes. 15 minutes later with about the same number of people in line, they brought out what they were trying to pass of as the bolognese sauce. In my entire life, I have never been served anything as disgusting as this. The only way I can think to describe it is liquified canned dog food

      “Disapointed ”
the hotel is located at the beautiful part of Cuba! the beach is beautiful, but not very clean, full of rocks and hard to get in and out without shoes, which not all of us had! It is a nice snorkelling location, so if going, make sure you have your equipment ready. Staff is friendly and helpful after tipping which was expected, thus not really nice feeling. The accommodation meaning your bed (matters) has not been changed since the hotel was built thus NOT very comfy to sleep on. Food was very average and I ended up with severe stomach problems as were many other plp that talked about food on our trip back. Transportation from the airport was significantly delayed due to driver's inability to find the place, which was very frustrating considering that we were getting into late hours of the evening. I am not sure how is it not possible for people who run the hotel to understand that organization and comfort matter to people and when it is going to happen when they are going to stop selling us Cuban natural beauties without thinking of investing in other things to make tourist happy to come back and spend more on what they have to offer?

      “Salmonella poisoning- confirmed! ”
We visited Jibacoa last January. There were 8 in our group- 4 couples. We booked through Redtag and did have a couple of special requests, Firstly, it was our 25th anniversary so a request was made to have a specially decorated room.(It was a surprise to us, someone else in the group made the arrangements). Secondly, we requested that we all be in the same building. We booked months in advance. None of this was done. Redtag blamed the hotel, the hotel blamed Redtag. This certainly didn't ruin our vacation but it did dampen our excitement on arrival. Room check in took much longer than anticipated and we have been to a number of resorts down south so we knew to expect check in to be 3 or 4pm. The one older couple had to wait much longer and they were very tired, I think it was about an hour and half after the original check in time. Meals were another issue, we were not allowed to pull tables together so the entire nine days we had to sit at different tables, if we went early enough we could at least sit near each other. We did go to management and we did to go to our Sunwing rep. He said he would look after everything and we never heard from him again. The a la carte was much the same. We booked early, we also went to the restaurant a couple of days ahead to see if we can sit at the same table. They told us we had to go to the front desk, we did go to the front desk and they said we had to go to the restaurant. We did go back to the restaurant hours before our reservation and they would not let us sit together, I went back to the front desk once we were seated that evening to ask that they push two tables together. When I returned to the restaurant, I was snubbed by staff and given my appetizer way after the entrees were being served and mine was ice cold- not luke warm but actually chilled. I gave up and left the dinner. The resort itself was lovely, the grounds are well maintained and the animation team does try to involve patrons. We found the average age of the guests about 60+. The beach was clean and the water was fine. There is also really good snorkeling right off the beach. The rooms were nice and the layout of the resort was good too. Having the mountain right behind you also added to the view. We have travelled to a quite a few resorts in the D.R and Cuba, we aren't fussy and rarely have complaints about resorts but I would never go back to this one because of the final a la carte: I had given up on the a la carte's and my husband and I decided to go the buffet on our last night instead of the a la carte.(As a group of 8 we always picked the last night for our a la carte). We were unaware but the rest of our party had arranged an anniversary cake for the a la carte, so when we found out, I reluctantly went. I chose the quiche as my appetizer as I do not eat meat. When I was eating it, it didn't quite taste right but I didn't say anything because of all the issues we had, I just wanted the last night to be fun and trouble free. Well, as dinner progressed I started feeling unwell, again, I kept my mouth shut. Finally after a long dinner with champagne I made a beeline to the bathroom. I had a terrible night and a very long bus ride to the airport the next morning! It turns out I had salmonella poisoning, confirmed with tests when I got back home. I did email the hotel and they said they can't do anything about it because I never saw a doctor in Cuba! I did let Redtag know about everything and "Paula" the agent passed the buck. A real disappointment. We have been travelling for a number of years and have never had any complaints. We have been to 3 star to 5 star. We know what is expected in Cuba and DR and have had some fabulous vacations but this one was so awful. It wasn't like there 20 of us, there were four couples who live in different parts of the province who look forward to spending this week together. The resort was completely inflexible. If it hadn't been for Roberto at the Beach Grill who put in touch with some local folks; Ernesto and Darien, the vacation would have been a total loss but the locals are awesome and makes me want to go back again and again to Cuba. One day the beach was covered with 1000's of jellyfish, it looked like blue bottles had washed up on shore. I felt bad for them and tried pushing them back into the water to no avail. You couldn't walk anywhere near the water there were so many. I would not go back to this hotel, had anyone taken the time to address even one of our issues it would have made a difference but it was clear we were just herded around and I can't even say cattle because they do treat cattle in Cuba better!

      “missing the little things, ”
First time to Cuba so we did not know what to expect. Short flight, quick exit from the airport and directed to the correct bus smoothly. Cold beer available as we reach the buses! We are sure being off season helped with the quick movement. Average bus ride to the resort but our Sunwing Rep gave us some good info along the way. Lots of hitchhikers on the roads and we travele through towns was quite interesting. The old cars are awesome. I was surprised to see how everyone obeyed the posted speeds and the roadside Police Huts along the highways. Resort check in was quick. They just wanted to give us our keys and push us along. Questions seemed to bother some of them but we were lucky our Desk Staff understood us easily. Do not book your dinners right away until you have booked any excursions as not all of the excursions are available each day. Bell service was very good. He showed us points within the resort as he took us to our room. Put our bags in the room, showed us around the room and set the air conditioning, Rooms was spacious, kingsize bed, small table with two padded chairs, TV stand with small bar fridge, desk with mirror and chair with one small drawer and a double mirror door closet which contained the small 6 drawer shelf. The drawers were approximately 24" wide by 12" deep by 3" high. Luckly we did not bring a lot of stuff as the 10 hangers did not provide any help either. A safe was mounted on top of the drawer unit. Bar fridge contained only two small bottles of water which you had to refill yourself at the bars. We found out this after throwing them out and had to purchase a couple bottles at the gift shop. Bathroom was a good size with a large counter, large tub with shower that had decent pressure a toilet was adjacent shower head. I am assuming it is there take on a bidet. Aside from no drawers and a leaking sink it did the job well. Remember to bring a voltage adapter as everything is 220 volts. The grounds were kept fairly well. Grass needed cutting which happened two days later but may have been the weather. Everything was close by and no need for carts or trolleys. Food at the buffet got to be a little boring after a few days. Even though the theme nights were suppose to change things up, rice, beans, plantations, and pasta were the staple. Some beef, rabbit, pork, fish and chicken were mixed in if you arrived at the right time. Breakfast was the best. Omletts, eggs, bacon, toast, a variety of juices, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, some fresh coldcuts made it enjoyable. Lunch was an experience. Beach grill had good fries, a hamburger, a hotdog(yuck), fish plate and a chicken plate. A salad and fruit plate were also available. Ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, oil and balsamic vinegar were at the table. Lunch buffet seemed to be leftovers from the night before. The Deli was available from 1pm to 1am that had some sandwiches and pastries. The Italian restraunt was very nice however the Cuban restraunt was less desirable. The beach was quiet, lacked enough chairs, lacked enough shade umbrellas and needed to be raked more often. Sand is grey and the first 10 feet of the water require water shoes due to the rocky bottom. A volleyball court is in the middle and some games are played in the morning. The snorkling is very good we were told as we did not bring any gear with us but there was some available. There were some motorized boats, small catermarans available to rent. Pool was nice with activities on and off through the day. Two small hottubs and the bar. Tennis courts and basketball courts were also nearby. Staff was OK. Polite and friendly but better if you tip. Cleaning crews were nice and same with the garden staff. Gift shop and front desk staff needs improvement. Entertainment crew seemed to have a few followers that enjoyed themselves. Evening shows were fair but the rain forced some shows indoors into the disco that had no air conditioning. The bar at the disco only serves the basic drinks. Front lobby bar serves the best drinks and the piano bar is too small. Overall, the resort is best suited for older groups looking for value or large groups looking for a place to call there own. Missing a lot of the little items that a four star should offer. I do suggest the Classic Car and guided tour of Havana along with the Catermaran excursion.

“Good times for good price ”
Short flight from Toronto. 45 minute bus ride too resort from airport. Quick check-in even though it seems you are bothering the front desk workers. Lobby bar makes strong drinks but good service most times. Lobby is clean . Buffet is OK but gets monotonous at times but always something too fill the belly.El LA carte restaurants are very good if front desk doesn't mess up your reservation. Resort is clean and landscape and view of the hills make resort seem secluded. Rooms are not the biggest but ours was clean ,air worked great and had a view of pool which I was surprised how quiet it was that close. Pool was dated and not very deep but nice too just sit in and cool off or just sit in and relax.Beach was clean and nice until you get about 5 ft from water and lots of rocks so bring water shoes if you want too spend time in ocean. If you like to snorkel then this resort is the place. Fish and other creatures everywhere in the water. Burgers and fries where very good at beach bar but after 7 days they get monotonous. Everything is in close proximity around resort . The staff where very friendly and always seemed happy. Staff in the stores seemed inconvenienced if you wanted too shop or look at things. Would I come too this resort again . Yes I would. Private taxis too get around Cuba is the best way too go. If you are looking for a place too relax then this is a good resort. Not a party place and I would say it s a good resort for people 45 and older which seemed most people where.

      “Excellent snorkelling experience”
There is a fantastic reef just off the beach with a wide variety and colours of fish and coral. However aqua shoes are required for comfort getting over the stones at the edge of the water. On the calmer days there were lots of small jelly fish but we didn't get stung. Nice beach but most sun beds were white plastic and the entertainments team did like to play loud Cuban style music all morning, as they did by the pool all day! Some days guests competed with them with their own music players and it was an absolute cacophony! Not very relaxing. Good water sports, the trip out on the Hobie Cat with Manuel was exhilarating and the pedalo allowed an excellent view of the reef and fish without getting wet. Rooms were clean enough with air con that was noisy but very welcome. Maid service every day with towel figures left. Bed was firm but comfy. Sockets were 220v. There is a coffee machine in the rooms with a complimentary sachet of coffee, a fridge, safe and hair dryer. Bars of soap and small shampoo/conditioner in bathroom although not replenished so you need to bring your own. The public toilets on the complex never seemed to have soap and the ladies' at the beach shack was such a tight squeeze I could barely close the door...and I am not big! Plenty of sun beds round the pool but not much shade. Buffet restaurant only had ceiling fans so was very hot and uncomfortable to eat in. Food was ok, nothing special but some tasty soups, good pasta station cooked fresh to your order and fried eggs and omelettes cooked to order in the mornings. Service was very good from waiting staff who were very friendly. The best thing about the speciality restaurants was the air conditioning; food served in them was rather peculiar and not particularly hot and service was not very good either. Although they will present you with a wine list, if you prefer to drink house wine by the glass they will not charge you! Also worth noting that there is a Deli in the lobby area next to Internet Room open from about 4pm-2am where you can get paninis, sandwiches, juice and cakes (no extra charge). Best to bring your own vessel for drink as all the outside bars use small plastic cups. Drinking water can be refilled from the bars. Grounds are very well maintained and security patrols present every evening around the resort and during the day on the beach. The evening shows were very good, well worth watching, especially The Circus. If you want to visit Havana or Varadero (beautiful beach and craft market), do yourself a favour and book one of the big taxis that queue outside the hotel every day. We booked Rene with his big red Chevrolet and his friend Yanet who was our English speaking guide. They were excellent on both days and tailored the days to our requirements: I can't recommend them enough and they worked out much cheaper than the organised reps trips, even after giving them a good tip! We had a pool view room which was fine, although noisy outside during the day, as soon as the evening shows finished around 10-10.15pm it was quiet. This is a small resort with mostly friendly staff, but it is isolated and food/restaurant could be better although snorkelling is excellent. NB If you have room in your case, pack some extra toiletries for the locals as they are not paid very much and really appreciate them :-)

      “great location, food sub-par ”
We spent 5 nights from Sept 13 to 18. Pros: adults-only was great for couples, the area was beautiful and more remote (which we prefer), snorkeling was very good, Cons: Weather was very hot and the air conditioning didn't work well. Front desk staff was not very helpful at all. "Cuban time" means waiting a lot longer than they tell you, which gets frustrating when it is hot. Dining area is not air conditioned so eating was not pleasurable when you are sweating. Food variety was okay for Cuba but they over-cook meats and vegetables and the desserts are bland. We took garlic and ginger down to season the food more. They can use some proper training in how to cook and present food and it would make a world of difference. Apparently they rotate so those cooking aren't really trained properly. They should have at least one trained head chef who can plan out meals and train staff to prepare meals that are suitable for British and Canadian tourists (which make up the majority). Post-secondary education is free in Cuba so they should focus on training more chefs to be more creative with the limited resources they have.

“Great place but not great scubadiving ”
We booked this trip beginning of October because we found a dive package that interrested us. Cuba is not renowned for scubadiving. The facility was fonctionnal and clean but rudimentary. Not made for diving divas or beginners. As a diver, you had to push the boat to the water thru the sandy beach for about 50 feet. It's a small boat were all the gear must stay loose on the boat's floor. The boat being small, as soons as some winds or waves would show up, the divng gets cancelled for the day. Not much to see underwater. As for snorkeling, this resort as a huge coral reef right in front of it's beach. As wide a the resort and goes about 400 feet into the sea. depth varies from 5 to 25 feet. Lots of coral structures, mixed with sand patches. Great snorkelling, lots of room to swim. Food was what was expected. There was always something for everyone. But I found that there was alot of fried food. They had an "all you can eat grilled lobster night" which was amazing. the snack place was great. The piano lounges was the place to be after diner. Musicians were excellent. We had good times singing along enjoying our amazing spanish coffees. There is a mountain right at the door of the resort were you can hike by yourself to reach the belvedere atop. great view of the resort. if you choose to go on the otherside of the mountain, you will end up in a farmers house were you will have the opportunity to talk and visit their holmes. (a few pesos are expected...) When you arrived at the airport. there is beer cart at the door. offering you 3 beers for 10 bucks or 1 for 4$. If, instead, you walk along side the airport up the stairs to the cafeteria, you will find the same cold beers at about 2$ each. Our room was clean and perfect for our needs. At some point, an old hot water tank broke. Leaving our building with no hot water. But they installed a brand new one in about 5-6hrs. That made me feel that they are not cheap on the repairs and they don't wast time about it. The sand is great but as soon as you approach the sea, it's rocky. wearing "crocs" is a must. I found it odd that the beach bar closes at 5 p.m. rendering the beach literally empty as of 6 p.m. Deserted. Or was it because it's always deserted to bar closes. During the day it's full. Overall great place to relax, no rush.

      “Relaxing spot”
A dated facility that has been kept up over the years. Limited Internet and wifi. Pool area great for sun lovers. Ocean view rooms are great with short distance to beach. Entertainment is ok and overall value is great. Some distance to Varedero or havana. Lots of 50 classic cars available to take you where you want. Only 2 restaurants and one buffet gives guests limited variety of food offerings.

      “Relaxing ”
Stayed here in middle of October. We were a bit concerned when we found out the hotel was having a beer fest that month but totally unnecessary to worry it was very low key, lots of games to play if you wanted and not obtrusive if you didn't want to take part. The rooms were adequate but not luxury the bathrooms need to be refurbished. No problems with the food, great breakfasts egg station where eggs of your choice cooked for you. Great beach area and no panic about getting sun beds. Snorkling was good but would advise some footwear to combat the rocks hidden as you enter from the beach. Found the staff were great very friendly. The drinks we had namely the beer and wine were good, would advise people to take with them plastic insulated mugs for their drinks the sort you use for coffee, everyone had them and was better than the little plastic cups they give you, also the bar staff had no problem filling them up. All in all this was a very nice relaxing holiday don't be put off by negative reviews if it's beach and sun you want for the price this is good value

“Stayed in September - review in November ”
Admittedly biased as have been here before , this was our fifth visit . However this is the only Resort We have stayed at more than once . Like many others we enjoy experiencing new places . The Reef being as close as it is combined with the natural beauty of the surroundings and the almost but not always sincere greetings of the employees keeps us coming back . September is a wonderfully humid time to be here ( note: May be subjected to tropical storm or worse ) . As my wife is not a strong swimmer , and the ocean was unusually calm , I was able to finally show her why this resort is so popular for snorkeling and diving . The beach restaurant is fantastic and I suggest you take lunches there , wander up to the buffet occasionally when you are going for a coffee Jibacoa ( delicious - but it takes time to do it right ) as there are sometimes some nice lunch items available as well . The beach area towards the cuban Campismo area unfortunately has become eroded for those who enjoyed that , there are still some spots where the sandy stuff is around . in my 5 trips to SBJ never once experienced any gastro distress ( other than self incurred ) , the water is good to drink and the food is prepared well . I will however encourage people to pay attention to those commercials that speak to avoiding travellers diarrhea. The SCOOTERS are still available as a daily rental from the Cameleon next door , $ 37 CUC daily I heard ( didn't investigate further ) . Still worth the while perhaps , maybe next trip . Lastly I will add , the new energy of Entrepreneurship is abundant on the resort , you will be approached by staff to go for Classic taxi to Havana , Matanzas , Bay of Pigs etc. , although I recognize the monetary importance that this extra income brings to the staff/locals I do not think it should be occurring at the cost of Spanish 101 being taught and other small little friendly touches on the resort . Would love to see these small touches return .( went to the Bay of Pigs FYI - enjoyed it ... just saying ) See attached business card - new 2013 air conditioned minivan - not the classic car approach that most people regale however on long trips I definitely recommend. Still uncertain to me if Insurance coverage is guaranteed in a vehicle there with no seat belts .... just saying

      “Great Vacation ”
Very enjoyable stay. This was not our first time at this location but we had a 13 year hiatus. Our last visit was in 2000 and our first visit was when it first opened in 1999. Both of the earlier times the hotel was being run by Super Clubs with Jamaica chefs and guidance. We expected a big change but to our surprise not much had changed. Yes the food was the biggest difference, it was rather disappointing, no little extras just plain and simple, but you could always find something to eat. The beach restaurant was the spot to enjoy lunch. The grilled fish and chicken were very good as we enjoyed lunch at the beach daily. They had activities at the pool daily including a pig roast, and sausages on a bun with bottled beer (Oktoberfest). We never tried the new deli but people were loving it. Our room was in building 9 on the second floor closest to the beach. We had a great view and enjoyed morning coffee and in the evening a glass of wine on our balcony watching the towel wars - way to funny. Also an amazing thunder storm one evening. We had bad weather ? no sun and rain every day, but we made the best of it. We did a tour of Havana with Humberto Mesa, recommended by our Transat rep, In fact our tour rep called and made the arrangement for us. Humberto was excellent and provided one of the best tours that we have been on,The cost was $60 CUC for the whole day and he can be reached @ humbertomesa68@yahoo.es or cell#(0053) 52944372. Our Transat rep. also made arrangement for us to enjoy a paladar which was in an old water tower at Jibacoa beach, a spiral staircase wound it's way up to the 5 tables at the top overlooking the ocean with 4 courses including Lobster, Fish and Pork along with appetizer, salad and dessert, all for $15 CUC including the taxi from the hotel and return, this was the best meal of the trip. This Paladar is not to be missed, remember to take mossie spray. It is : El Mirador, Jibacoa Beach, Villa Loma @ KM 57 1/2 Jibacoa, Santa Cruz del Norte Snorkeling was good you could see several kinds of fish and we saw a sea snake. The crowd at this resort were mostly repeat guest and were an older crown mostly in their 60?s and older. Made us feel young ? Nice surprise. We had booked 7 days a Breezes Jibacoa and the hotel was overbooked and they asked clients if they wanted to move to there sister property in Varadaro. Since the weather was not the best we chose to take them up on this offer 4 days in Jibicoa and 3 days at Breezes Varadaro. We were put in the hotel section and had a beautiful room but we gave up ocean view to have garden view. The hotel section was very noisy in the middle of the night ? woken several times each night by party goers. I think the other accommodations would have been more peaceful The beach was beautiful at this resort. Lots of beach chairs. The food at this resort was much better than Jibacoa. They had all the little extras that we expected. The beach had a snack bar and bar with a few little shops. This resort is nicely laid out with several bars popping up in the middle of no where. We enjoyed the hop on hop off bus and did the whole tour of Varadaro. All in all we enjoyed our time at both resorts! It looks like Super Clubs is leaving Jibacoa around the first of the year and if the rumours are correct it will be operated by Blue Diamond, a subsidiary of Sunwing. Oh well, all good things must come to pass!

      “Okay for all inclusive ”
Professional staff but, beware that this resort is in the middle of nowhere and very isolated with a nice beach. This resort makes a lot of money off you as guests by charging you heavily for things you want to do outside the hotel such as book a cab, exchange rates, make phone calls, use the internet, laundry and the day trips/excursions. Don't book this resort if you want a bit of night-life a walk away from the resort because there the hotel is based in the sticks. Havana is about an hour plus away from the resort and the airport is equally very far from the resort as well. However, the hotel has satisfactory entertainment every night. So basically, if you stay in this hotel you are stuck with the hotel's expensive exchange rate etc. Also, there is no wifi, internet is not accessible on your mobile phone and you will be stuck with the three computers at the reception for the equivalent of £5 for 1 hour or equivalent of £2.50 for 30 minutes. Beware that sometimes you can?t do some transactions or "https stuff" on those computers for some reason not sure why. You can?t dial directly outside from your room. You have to go to the reception and it is a tedious process. The resort has shops: souvenir store, cigar / rum boot and a mini-supermarket. I calculated their cigars to be about 15% more expensive than what you would pay in Havana or the factories. The souvenirs are not as expensive, but you can pay way less for the same handcraft jewellery outside the hotel ? just to the left there outside the hotel are three locals (few walks apart) that sell handcraft pretty jewellery . Not that I am contradicting myself (the hotel is isolated) but these locals just sell knickknacks (similar jewellery / souvenirs) outside their living rooms really. Their items are pretty nice, relatively cheaper and the same items are sold in the hotel but more expensive. Also, two houses outside the hotel sell nice Pina Colada again they are houses / with a restaurant and they serve pretty good food and you will notice the peacocks walking around. The guy once said, he just milked the cow that morning and harvested the pineapples and coconut the same day to serve us the Pina Colada. I believed him. The Resort?s canteen don't have a variety of food but they tend to change things around just make it feel fresh. Lunch is not that great but the best food is served in the beach restaurant - better and tasty. I think it is because food is served by order (within 15 minutes) and the canteen?s food is mass cooked. I would have preferred to go and fetch my own coffee but you have to be looking and waiting to for the lady to make eye contact to come and pour your coffee, water or orange juice. Their fruit juice is not pure it is very sweet so watch-out. You have to get in line for omelette, nicely prepared by a very efficient chef with four frying pans on the go.

      “Week in paradise ”
My husband and myself recently spent some time at this resort and we absolutely loved it. We spent 5 nights at the resort and then 2 nights in Havana...We booked flight and hotel separately so we could do both. We had an oceanview room and this is one resort where oceanview actually means steps to the ocean. The views were beautiful and sitting on the balcony listening to the waves made for a relaxing time. We enjoyed the buffet although we did feel by the end of our trip that they could use a bit more variety, but what we had was enjoyable and neither of us had any "tummy" issues this trip. We found any of the staff we talked to were all very friendly and more than willing to make sure you were having a great time. The entertainment staff did something every afternoon at the pool and it was fun to watch, even participate sometimes. The pool at this resort is not deep, but is beautiful. We met some fellow Canadians there and my husband and I found that the guests at this resort were among the friendliest we've ever encountered at a resort. Havana for the 2 days was a wonderful experience (read my review of NH Capri Hotel in Havana)....The weather for our entire week was HOT!! We really enjoyed the snorkelling (minus the scrape with the fire coral, ouch)...and we saw so many species of fish, hopefully our pictures turn out from doing that. We walked to the other end of the beach near the Chameleon Resorts and there is a young man who sets up a market there 2 or 3 times a week. This young man is super talented...He took a picture from one of the guests cameras and painted them a huge painting that was amazing to see.....he took 4 years of art in university and he's good. He had the usual trinkets for sale and his prices were way better than in the resorts. We will definitely return to this resort.....it is not big and so you have to go with an open mind that you are there to rest and relax. You can take a tour of Havana from the hotel, but we used the services of Pototo and he was amazing...would definitely use him again (if you'd like information on him, pm me and I will send you his info)....the old cars are so cool to watch driving around on the streets. Make sure you go up the hill a bit to the El Cacique restaurant and have yourself a pina colada, the owner is so nice and they also serve a dinner that is out of this world. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of this resort, we can't wait to go back.

“Nice hotel in very remote area ”
We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Breezes Jibacoa and had a lovely time. The hotel itself is well kept and spotlessly clean throughout. The gardeners work very hard every day to keep the grounds looking beautiful and the maids always did a wonderful job keeping the rooms clean and leaving the towels in the shapes of swans, etc. Our only complaint in regards to the room service is that we would be right down to one sheet of toilet paper before they were replaced and the toiletries were not replaced in the entire 2 week period of us being there. The food let the hotel down slightly. For such a large resort there was a surprisingly small amount of choice of food items and the food was very repetitive. This being said, there was always enough to eat but more variety would have been appreciated. The staff in the restaurant were on the whole friendly and helpful especially Oralis who was on a different level and always had a smile on her face and time to talk to you regardless of how busy she was. Some of the other staff could learn a thing or 2 from her as she made your day with her friendly and smiley personality. The band who sing in the restaurant are fantastic and well worth staying around after dinner to watch - it was so nice to have some authentic Cuban music performed live whilst eating your evening meal. We bought both of their CD's so that we have a reminder of their music when we get home! The evening entertainment was actually very good with outside performers coming in 13 out of the 14 nights we were there. The dance troop with singers were very good but were there multiple times and it would have been nice to have seen something different but after seeing bad entertainment in other hotels of the same standard we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the performances. We spent a lot of evenings playing pool in the games room after the entertainment had finished - they have 2 pool tables, 2 ping pong tables and a football table. Only problem was the 8 ball was missing from both tables and the tips from 2 of the 3 cues were missing so you had to improvise. Would be good if these issues could be rectified so that people can enjoy playing. We spent most of our hotel time down at the beach and there was never any problems getting a sun lounger or somewhere in the shade. Snorkels and flippers were provided at the beach and are well worth using as the water is very clear and there are so many beautiful fish to see and in very shallow water. I would recommend taking water shoes with you as it can be a little stony in places and are also useful for not catching your feet on the coral. The pool is large and well kept but we found the heat around the pool during the day a little overbearing and preferred the cool breeze on the beach. Sun loungers in the shade are quite sparse around the pool area and people seem to go down to the pool area very early and reserve loungers even though this is supposed to be not allowed. The hike with a member of the entertainment team is well worth doing as there's a beautiful view at the top of the hill and you then walk through farmers land and get an opportunity to buy some souvenirs. Be warned, it is a hike and not a walk and it is quite steep in areas so if you're unsteady on your feet it's not for you! The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and other than the area you see on the hike, there is nowhere within walking distance. Through our Virgin rep, we went on the Havana Rum and Cigar tour which was just okay - not enough time spent in Havana itself and the cigar "factory" was a small shop! We went back to Havana in a Classic car and we had a driver and an English speaking tour guide and they charged us 60 CUC for over 8 hours out and about which is an absolute bargain as they took us to all the places we wanted to go to and also showed us some areas that we wouldn't have known about so would definitely recommend this. Through Virgin we also went on the Varadero day trip which I can highly recommend as you go to some local souvenir markets where you can buy some beautiful items at ridiculously low prices! Also through Virgin we went on the Jeep safari which again was great and the speed boat trip was amazing. The bay of pigs trip is worth while but be prepared for a long journey - 3 hours each way! The main thing that lets the hotel down is some of the bar staff, especially those at the beach and pool bar, as they are incredibly rude. You say ola when you arrive and you'll get "yes, what do you want" in return and then your drinks will get slammed down in front of you before they turn back round and start talking to the other staff. Before we came to Cuba we were told how friendly the people were but unfortunately a lot of the staff did not live up to this and really let the hotel and some of the other friendly members of staff down. One of the waitresses in the restaurant barely grunted at us each day and then on our last day came over and asked if it was our last day, all smiles and proceeded to tell us she has 2 children.....subtle! i am a strong believer that you get tipped if you provide good service, not that you only get good service because you have tipped! Overall we had a very nice time at Breezes Jibacoa and would recommend the hotel if you want a relaxing holiday in a quiet and remote location in close proximity to Varadero and Havana.

“Definately "OK", Overall good value for the cost”
We travelled Oct 14-21, had a great time overall. its a quiet place, average age is older, not a party atmosphere at all, but every one was very friendly and sociable. very few people in the discotech at night. The evening shows were very good. The hotel room is fine, but the bed is hard as a rock, did not get any restful sleeps. The food depends on you.... I'm a picky eater and therefor lost a few pounds, if you are the type that can eat anything you will be fine. Basically, if you have been to Cuba before you know what to expect. The 'a la carte' restaurants were truly excellent. Service overall was "good", I have no negative comments. Being only 1 hour from Havana you should plan a day trip over, its really worth it, and help breaks up the routine of sitting at the beach/pool every day. there is a mountain in front of the resort which was a lot of fun to hike, we enjoyed that. I woud recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, friendly place

“Fantastic Area, You Won't be Disappointed! ”
I have been travelling to Breezes Jibacoa for 7 years now, and love the culture, the safeness of the area, the beach, and the walking/hiking options this area brings. It is not touristy and I love it. Over the years I have become good friends with my original tour guide from back in 2006. Her name is Ana and she provides tours in a classic 57 Chevy. Her English is extremely good and she is a social worker by background so she has a great personality which is important if you are planning on spending an afternoon/day touring the area. My boyfriend and I visited in July, as it was cheaper than taking a vacation in Ontario. We plan on heading back again soon, once the snow starts to fly.... i can't wait! If you are heading to Breezes and are interested in a tour of Havana or any of the other Cuban tourist locations, don't waste your time with a tour bus. They are expensive, crowded, and you'll waste a day accommodating all the other tourists' tardiness at each stop. Take a tour with Ana....it's cheaper, and you will have a cultural experience. It is nice when going to the market to have Ana with you if you don't speak Spanish. Feel free to msg me and I can provide you with Ana's contact info.

“Decent Vacation Spot for the Money ”
We were there with our adult children and grand-children - 3 generations! During Oktoberfest there are many guests who have been before, some many times and they love it. It's a lovely resort, most service people were pleasant and accommodating. Rooms were comfortable. The one pool is large, but not for swimming - too shallow, but great for socializing. Food and drinks were plentiful. The food in the buffet restaurant was okay, recognizing the limitations of it being Cuba, but boring after a few days. The food in the two specialty restaurants, on the other hand, was a step up in quality and presentation. The house wines were poor, but a limited selection of better ones was available at additional cost. One complaint: drinks are available round the clock, but no food after 1 AM. There is no Wi-Fi, and internet access costs extra. Slow, but OK for checking your e-mail. Each of the three generations in our group seemed to look at Breezes differently: our children (fiftyish) loved it; they are repeat customers and probably fit the majority age profile. Our grand-children (mid-twenties) were not overly impressed, and not as many guests were in their age group. And us old-timers, even fewer in number as guests, found it enjoyable, but would probably prefer somewhere more sedate. Perhaps it would be different without the Oktoberfest atmosphere. But having said all that, the physical surroundings, facilities and weather were very good indeed.

“Nice place for relaxing holidays ”
We have spent really nice 11 days at Breezes Jibacoa after having spent 3 nights in Havana at the Hotel Nacional (it is really worth doing it this way ? check with Virgin or in our case Thomas Cook, it is called twin-city holidays). We have arrived around 1pm, got our welcome drinks and unfortunately had to wait about two hours for our room as check in starts at 3pm and room wasn't ready. Reception area is very pleasant and there is a nice lobby bar or outside seating area with a fountain and lots of greenery and canopy offering pleasant shade. I liked the fact that there are no plastic wristbands for all-inclusive guests in Breezes and also no screaming children anywhere as it is adults only hotel (minimum age for guests is 14). We were allocated a room in block 7 on the ground floor but once we have opened the door I have turned on my heal and went back to reception to ask for a different one. The room (1149) had 3 beds, each too small for 2 people to sleep comfortably together and there was no seating area there as it was so crammed with the beds. There was no problem at the reception with swapping for a different room in block 5 ? lovely specious room 2131 with huge bed, nice dressing table and seating area. After all we are not travelling all the way for so many hours from UK to stay in small crammed room for 11 days! We had garden view and it was really nice to seat on the balcony in the evening and admire the gardens or look out for the hotel?s resident woodpeckers! The only complaint I can have about the room was the air-con was rather loud and struggling to keep the room cool at night. Food ? the subject everybody keeps talking about reviewing this hotel. It is ok but could be better. Loads to choose from during breakfast, ?The Omelette and Eggs? chef is a master of his art and a very pleasant chap too. Staff is very friendly and hard-working but struggles to keep up during busy times and it may feel like they are ignoring the guests. Buffet lunch is ok but a bit boring and I have noticed that some of the dishes were served during lunch and then during dinner. It is much more pleasant to eat lunch at the El Ranchón at the beach ? grilled chicken, really good fish (different every day), burgers, pizza and hot-dogs, all in pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Dinner is ok but again a bit boring and not too inspiring. During some of the nights there is a live Cuban music being played which is nice. There are themed nights every day: Mexican, Cuban, Caribbean, Italian (least interesting in our opinion), Gala night is nice as there are candles everywhere and a band playing ballads on saxophone and piano, best night is on Wednesdays where you can have grilled lobster- how good is that on all inclusive buffet ? that pretty much redeems all the other nights with so-and-so food. Regarding the al carta restaurants, piece of advice: book your dinners early as they get booked up quickly ? we wanted to avoid another boring Italian night at the buffet but were late booking and all spaces were gone. Out of two of them the Martinos and La Taverna we have preferred La Taverna which had less stuffy atmosphere, great waiting staff and live music, food was also slightly better than the Italian meal at Martinos. Very interesting tasting chicken in chocolate. I wish the staff makes it clear to guests at both restaurants that you can just order house wine as they present you with the wine menu first. Nice little deli shop near the lobby offers toasted wraps, sandwiches and sweets from 4pm and is conveniently close to the pool. Anyway for us Cuban food in general was not very inspiring and I think majority of the food in Breezes wasn't too bad. However I was pleased to tuck in to a steak upon return. There is a good selection of drinks and cocktails from all the bars, beach and pool bar only serves them in small plastic cups so everybody is bringing their thermal cups with them which the staff doesn't seem to mind. All bars serve delicious flavoured coffees (Spanish coffee with brandy etc.), cappuccinos and espressos, a big plus for me. Lobby bar serves great mojitos, beach and pool bar don?t have mint for them sometimes. Again all the bar staff is great, helpful and always has a smile for the guests ? it is remarkable as they work 12h shifts 6 days a week. Please tip them for their hard work, they earn peanuts. Every few days there is an organized morning hike in the mountains where you get amazing view of the resort and can meet the locals or try the sugar cane (strong mosquito replant is recommended during the hike), if hike is too much there is light-weight afternoon walk around the hotel. Take some small money for the locals. All activities are listed on the board near the buffet restaurant. Very nice pool area, no problems with getting loungers (stayed in September) but the ones under the canopies were reserved from the morning. Nice aquacise class around 10.30. Dance lesson around the pool in the afternoon ? basic steps but still very enjoyable, I wish more people take part in the activities as the entertainment team is great. They all speak good English (and other languages!) and are such good laugh, very friendly too. It is worth taking part as everybody gets tokens called funny money which can then be spent during auction on Thursday ? I got myself free massage just for participating in few lessons and activities, others bid on bottles of rum and dinners at Martinos and la Taverna. Massage was very good, the lady doing it is very skilled, however I would have preferred the beach massage hut to be a bit more private and have a bit of more cosy feel to it. There is coral reef about 50m off shore ? reason enough to choose Breezes for your holidays. There are free snorkels and mask to hire from the beach but it is so much better to bring your own as so many people do. There is a lot of stones in the sea just off the shore so bring water shoes. Diving centre organizes dives for approx. 50CUC or they can take you out to the reef in a boat to snorkel for 20CUC. Beach is nice and clean and offers enough shady areas for everybody to be comfortable. Be careful not to seat under palm trees - falling coconuts can seriously injure you. Activities on the beach in the morning - great fun. I was very pleased to find out that there is a very efficient doctor on site ? service which you don?t pay for, you only get charged for the medications. I developed a serious itchy rash all over my body while enjoying reading in the shady part of the beach, it was so bad that my hands and feet swell and one evening even my face, I still don?t know what has caused it (maybe anybody had similar symptoms and can advise?) and it was extremely uncomfortable. Could have been the sand fleas or anything I have eaten, worst thing was I still had it after coming back home. Advice: take your antihistamine tablets with you and cortisone cream while travelling. Entertainment: Shows presented by the hotel's resident dance group in the evenings were not too bad but once you have seen one or two you have seen them all ? it would have been nice to have more variety. There was one show which we liked in particular prepared by a group from Varadero and performed in the pool ? Aqua dance, it was marvellous. Sport: Gym is kitted out nicely but lack of air-conditioning puts you off from exercising. Yoga classes 3 x a week there. Tennis lessons with an instructor ? great idea but make sure you bring your trainers, sandals won?t do. Basketball pitch is available if you are not put off by the heat. You can find plenty of books to read in the games room (German, French and English). We have enjoyed the games room with the pool tables (billiards) and table tennis, some board games and chess. However again lack of air-conditioning made it a bit hard to enjoy at times. There are 3 shops there: 1 selling arts and crafts, 1 selling cigars and Havana Club rum and 1 selling souvenirs, bits and pieces, cosmetics, sweets, crisps and more rum (recommend the Aldabo Crem del Ron - very nice). All not too pricey. I know that a lot of people are curious what excursions you can do from the hotel (I know I was). Virgin has a rep there and there is a rep for German Thomas Cook otherwise there is a tourist desk in the lobby and here are some prices: Havana special - 135CUC Historical Havana - 51CUC (sounds too cheap and probably doesn't include transport) Havana overnight - 165CUC Havana overnight + Pinar - 195CUC Varadero city tour - 25CUC Jeep Discovery Tour - 89CUC Rio Canimar - 63CUC Safari Cayo Blanco - 63CUC Swimming with dolphins - 89CUC Deep sea fishing - 395CUC However I would recommend a trip in one of the classic cars parked outside the hotel. Many members of the staff (try beach bar staff or entertainment team members) can recommend somebody and arrange it for you or you can just ask at the reception. We have had an amazing trip with an English speaking guide ? Bibby (Vivien) in a 57? Chevrolet. We were taken to the Bacunayagua bridge, to Saturno Cave where you can swim, Bellamar cave (amazing ? 5CUC/p), we have done tour of Matanzas and visited the Pharmaceutical Museum (interesting ? 3CUC/p), had nice stop at the Rio Canimar and we were taken to 3 amazing lookout points where none of the other drivers go, it was fantastic experience, just driving on some of the country roads and seeing how the locals live was worth the 80CUC we have paid. We were also taken to a traditional Cuban restaurant Bella Vista in Matanzas where we had our best grilled fish ever in pleasant surroundings. Totally enjoyed the trip and would recommend it to everybody. If I was more clued up to the Cuban reality I would have brought some gifts with me. Things like soap, shampoo and tooth paste is what the people value most as they are very expensive in Cuba - more so than a bottle of rum! We were tipping our room maid approx. every other day but I haven't noticed any dramatic improvement in the standard of cleaning but I know that this 1-2CUC mean a lot to them. There is no wi-fi in the hotel, but there is a computer room (nice and air-conditioned), I believe that an hour costs 8CUC. Great relaxing stay all-together.

Have spent many a vacation here and we love it! David Ramos and staff are terrific, Sarah and Vivian and Kiki are always accommodating as is the rest of the staff. The food is not 5-star, but I have never gone hungry. Beach is small but beautiful and you can snorkel right off the beach. you can participate in as many or few activities as you desire. The rooms could use some updating, but are adequate and clean. We always say, Jibacoa is one of the best bangs for your buck. We are about to book our 17th time there...looking forward to it...Dirk & Mary

“Great Cuban Experience -apart from the food. ”
My husband and I stayed at Breezes from 10/09/2014 - 25/09/2014 although we spent 2 nights elsewhere as we wanted to see more of Cuba than just an all inclusive resort. Our room was spacious and clean although very dated and bathroom definitely in need of an upgrade. The staff were not as friendly as I had expected although they brightened up when tipped or trying to sort you out with one of their friends' classic car hire. The location and setting of the hotel is fantastic and as it was adults only it was also very peaceful. Entertainment was very limited but we don't really bother about that. Small beach was nice and although we did not go snorkelling we did go swimming in the sea which was great. The food however in the main buffet dining room was not great - although we really enjoyed our lunches at the Beach Bar & also our dinners in the 2 specialist restaurants which you had to book. The service in these venues was also much better than in the main dining hall where we were more or less ignored on our first evening as we had arrived late due to our flight. This was our first trip to Cuba & we did have a great holiday as we hired a classic car, driver & guide and spent 2 days in Havana. We also went on an organised overnight trip which took in Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Santa Clara. Cuba is a fascinating place and Breezes was a great base for getting around. With a flight time of 9.5 hours you cannot go and just laze at a pool.

“Another Great Holiday in Cuba ”
It was our 5th time at this hotel. Many thanks to Sarah and Vivian in Customer Relations who are always friendly and very helpful. Kiki the porter is brillant and so knowledgeable. The room was, as always, lovely and clean and we had a good service from the maid. The food is not up to British standards but its good for Cuba and we always managed to find something to eat. Nelson was again excellent at cooking the eggs and is really missed when not there. Oralys is an excellent waitress - nothing is too much trouble for her and she is very friendly and attentive. We eat at the Taberna and the food was very good. The beach chairs are hard so take a lie-low or something similar. The food at the beach bar is good especially the fish and saves the need to change out of swimwear at lunch time. Odietty, Roberto and Tania looked after our refreshment needs! On the downside we do like some entertainment in the evening, there is a show every night at 9.15p.m. The opera show was fantastic and easily the best show we had seen at Jibacoa in all the time that we have been going there. The A/C in the disco had broken and it was very hot and empty! There is a piano player in the piano bar but unfortunately some nights he did not turn up and the music only goes on until about 11ish. There was a karaoke singalong one night which went down well with the people that were there - perhaps this is something that could be introduced once a week? Although tour operators advise against taking taxi rides in the old 50's American cars we have always used them and have never had anything other than a first class service. We used Otneil and Vivian who have a 56 Chevy red and white in colour. Vivian's English is excellent and we had a great day when we went to Matanzas with them. They have plenty of time for you and will take you anywhere you want to go along with suggesting places that might be of interest to you. All in all a great time and we will definitely return next year.

      “Well worth a visit ”
The setting of this resort is simply stunning, and the grounds are immaculately kept. The beach is lovely, with plenty of areas of shade and the snorkelling was incredible. I strongly advise going on the hike, that leaves at 9:00 AM from the lobby, it's hard work but the view is incredible and you get to visit a local farm and some handicraft stores - and Mike the guide was very interesting. The location is also great for excursions, just a little over an hour to both Havana and Varadero (we did the Havana Special and the Catamaran trips and these were brilliant). The food isn't what you'd expect of a four-star hotel, but you have to understand that Cuba is different to the rest of the world, and there were some great dishes. There were fresh eggs cooked to order each morning, some wonderful soups (I think people missed these and they were great), the lunches were good on the beach and they cook burgers to order in the main restaurant, and you can choose extra toppings. We also visited both a la carte restaurants and thought they were good, the wine list was a little lacking but you do have to expect that. Whilst in Havana we had a buffet in Hotel Nacional's restaurant and it was far far worse than Breezes, which showed us just how good the food here was. The drinks did vary depending who made them (the chap that works in the piano bar made a particularly good sea banana) but on the most part they were all good. It's a good idea to take a large insulated cup so that you don't have to use the little plastic ones that you get during the day. Both in the restaurants and at the bars, an occasional tip would get you served quickly and may improve the quality of your drinks. The rooms were spacious and our air conditioning was perfect, it was always so refreshing to come back in from the heat. House keeping were wonderful, and left displays with the towels each day. The bed was enormous and not at all hard, I think those that found the beds hard might have been larger guests. The wildlife is great too. Lizards are everywhere and huge Turkey Vultures come so close to the ground, we also saw a few hummingbirds. Not to mention the fish. All in all, it was a wonderful holiday and I would recommend this hotel to everyone, just be aware that the food in't quite up to british standards and know that the odd tip will get you great service.

      “Breezes, would return ”
My son and his new wife decided on Breezes for thier Honeymoon in September. As my sister & I had given this as a wedding present they very kindly invited us to join them for a two week holiday. We are so very pleased we did. The weather was hot and we had some storms but these were great to watch. I can only say good things about all of the staff they were all very helpful and friendly to the four of us, from the gardeners saying good morning to us every morning. I will give an extra mention to our favourite bar staff Alexei and Gandry in the piano bar they made our evenings so much fun. We spent most of our evenings in the piano bar, some nights they got very busy but always served us with a smile. If you have to wait for a while just be patient and watch them work. The Spanish coffees are great to watch being made but do take time for them to do & sitting at the bar watching them is a great way to spend your evenings but they make at least 30 + of these most nights. So as I said be patient and you will get served, anything worth having is worth waiting for. Some nights the lovely piano man Jorge will entertain you with his talent and really doesn't mind if you sing along, even if you do it very badly like my sister and I. Just make sure to give him some appreciation by clapping to show how much you are enjoying your evening. We enjoyed the whole two weeks very much. Are rooms were keep very clean by our lovely cleaning lady. The Hotel and the grounds were also kept clean by all the hard working staff. If we decided to go back to Cuba I would return to Breezes as you can totally chill out but if you want to party all night long this would not be the place for you as it is very secluded. P.S If you think you can hear a cat crying and you think it may be trapped somewhere, it might be a bird as they mimic the sound a cat makes. Many thanks to the nice blonde pool man who tried to explain this to us without much success.

“Wouldn't keep returning if it wasn't great”
As a return guest before we arrive felt a little disappointed with the lack of communication from a certain customer reflationary manager, but that was eventually resolved. We got a really nice room and the staff were very nice, better than the years passed so think they are taking on board customer feedback which is great. This place is chilled, it has very good food for Cuba, the restraint maritinos could do better but it's a change. The deli bar is really good too. The drinks are up and down but the guys at the piano bar are fantastic, hi to Alix We had really bad new on our holiday and had to come home early, the staff were fantastic to us, really helpful and compassionate towards us. It meant a great deal. Especially Alfonso and the lady's at reception, thank you so much

      “Still the best! ”
We just got home from our twelfth visit to Breezes Jibacoa and we still think it is the best resort we have been to. The most important reason is the staff. We are always impressed by the high level of service, the friendliness, the happiness and the skill of the staff. The second most important factor for us the is peace and quiet of a resort which has no children...we love kids but not when at a resort. This time we were in an ocean front room and there were two beachfront weddings while we were there. We were just spectators and we were impressed.. Sarah and her team clearly did a great job making the day (or trip) special for these people! There were flowers on the beach, a really good group of musicians, a secret surprise and, of course, a beautiful setting! We love this resort and look forward to returning in January and for many years to come!

A lovely typical style simple hotel in Cuba. Only 4* but really good value. It is what it claims to be, honest. Lovely white Sandy beach, fabulous warm sea, clear blue. Decent safe snorkelling off the beach. All inclusive. Food is pretty good, as good as all Cuban food.....wholesome, but bland.....take pepper with you! And even chilli! Rooms are simple, adequate, comfy bed, clean. Only about 40 mins from Havana.....so accessible, in taxis.

      “Great Relaxing Holiday!!! ”
We were originally going to another destination but had to change plans last minute and choose to come to Cuba. The change of plans and going to Cuba was the best choice. We arrived at Breezes Jibacoa and were greated by the amazing front desk staff , Sarah the Guest Services and Luis the frontman. Luis assisted us with luggage and tolds us about the resort and and also arranged for us a private tour of Havana. We meet Roberto and Lisa who were the best tour guides every! Roberto our driver drove us to Havana in his imaculant 1956 Belair Chevy and Lisa walked with us and told us the history of Havana. They showed up the real Havana! After an amazing day we arrange with Roberto and Lisa to take out out to a night tour of Havana. They made all the arrangements. We went to dinner at an amazing restuarant close to the city zoo and then they took us to a Social Club to hear true Cuban music. It was a magical night. The resort itself was great the staff looked after us, the food at the Buffet restaurant had great options for all dietary needs, the Italian and Cuban restaurant were fabulous, the white sandy beach was beautiful, the snorkeling was amazing and the Beach Restaurant and Staff were great. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday and already making plans to return soon!!

      “Exceptional property, great vacation ”
We stayed at this resort for 2 weeks (last week of January and first week of February). The service was wonderful for the most part, with the exception of a few crabby bartenders in the lobby. Staff at the front desk, front door, grounds, restaurants, maid service, etc.. were excellent. The pool was very cold the first week we were there, but so was the weather for the first couple of days; however after a few days it warmed up and was wonderful. The beach is fantastic, with areas that are busy and active, with others that are quiet and peaceful; and there are lots of grassy areas near the beach to relax on as well. This was our first time to Cuba and had heard that the food in most places is not the best, but we certainly did not have that experience. We found the food at the resort to be fresh, tasty and well prepared; the a la cartes we great. If you like getting off the resort, the roads around the resort are mostly farm land in one direction, little to no cars and a great place to walk or run, however in the other direction (heading towards Havana), are busy there is little shoulder space to walk on. The mountain right behind the resort is definitely worth the hike, and the area around the resort was totally safe (we even walked down the road to a restaurant one night (bring a flashlight)). It is a great place to stay if you want the benefit of a resort off the main strips but do not want to stay in Havana. You are about an hour away and can do a couple of trips in (one day and one night was fun). Snorkeling right off the beach....amazing. We are in our late 40's. As the age limit is 14+ it was peaceful and lots of folks there our age. We love kids, but this time we enjoyed the lack of them. Very quiet resort all-round, even by the pool (but not boring). Rooms were clean and bug free. Balconies were clean and in good repair (in fact for an older resort it was very well maintained). We will definitely be back at some point.

This was my third trip to Breezes Jibacoa, spending another 3 weeks here, again it was a enjoyable holiday. Only down part was the Airport, the service is very very slow and it felt by the time you got through it would time to turn back and get your return flight home. A nightmare.!!, The holiday at breezes made up the for bad parts so relaxing and enjoyable, the staff giving good service as most remember you if you have been before. The rooms are kept clean every day so no problems there if you do have anything all you have to do is ask. The bars give good service by the hard working staff and will appreciate a thank you and or smile from you, The restaurants here are good with a buffet restaurant, beach eating place ideal for lunch and 2 others you need to make reservations which you should not miss.

What a surprise my family gave me by having me join them in the Breezes Jibacoa sunspot vacation earlier in the year . Gauranteed sun everyday ? yes . Beautiful beach ? yes . Learn the salsa and other dances ? yes . Entertainment every night ? yes . Great food in the restaurants and beach . But the service surpasses all the hôtels I have visited . From the breakfast omelettes whipped up ( 4 at a time ) by a smiling chef , to the waiters and waitresses who wait to seat you and be ready for your desires . And who makes the best capuccino at the bar pool if not Rene A. Anyone sunning around the pool will agree that Rene is a pro at his job and his gentil and kind attitude towards the visitors is outstanding . Are we coming back to Breeses Jibacoa? For sure we are . to the staff at the desk , we thank you so much for your kind services which are so much appreciated .

      “Great trip ”
Traveled to Breezes Jibacoa for a week in late September this year and had a great time. Oceanfront room in the 14 block was worth the extra money. Compared to other Cuban hotels I have been to, the food was surprisingly good especially breakfast which is cooked to order by a particularly energetic egg chef juggling four burners while cooking any type of omelette or style of egg you want. The Italian restaurant wasn't that great although we did arrive at the end of the evening and I think they just wanted us to get the meal over with. They are trying to impress but the food seemed as though it was a warmed up version of something you could get at the buffet. They are so concerned with appearances that of the four of us waiting to be seated two of us wearing (nice and expensive) shorts were sent back to our room to change. The International restaurant is a lot better. The beach bar had great fish and good hamburgers but don't even think about getting a hotdog. Every morning the classic cars line up on a small hill near the entrance to the hotel and if you deal directly with the driver or guide they will knock a few pesos off the rate compared to booking through the front desk or a member of the bar staff with a friend. I hired a '55 Pontiac (with Ana as a guide) for 50 cuc for a eight hour tour of Havana, well worth it. Most of these 'Yank Tanks' don't have seat belts so if that's a concern get a regular taxi. As other reviewers have mentioned, the hike up the hill is not for the faint of heart. It's a very steep climb that takes about 20 minutes with a rest stop half way up. If you huff and puff your way to the top the view is great. The trip down and the walk through a local farm and past craft houses along the road back to the hotel is easy. I found the staff to be quite friendly especially if you tip the bartender once in a while. Lots of selection besides beer and rum although the little plastic 'glasses' are very small. If you don't want to keep going back and forth pack a larger container in your luggage and they will happily fill it up. The grounds and gardens are well maintained and security is on patrol 24 hours a day. Beach is well known for its coral reef and snorkeling but it is rocky so take rubber soled shoes if you want to wade. Entertainment was excellent and the Opera night was a surprise to say the least. All in all, it's a great spot for a relaxing holiday and I'll be back soon.

Went to this resort October 17th to 24th 2014. Had the best trip there yet. A special thanks to Vivian Puig, Lisbel Romero and Sarah Capote for making my arrangement and my upgrade so easy. There in nothing they wouldn't do to help. Ocean View is the way to go. Fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean. Hope Humberto did well in his bartending competition in Varadero, I sampled his special drink it was great. A special thanks to Luis E Martinee, if you need help or info he is the man to ask and thanks to all the staff as they were great. This Hotel is well kept up and I never went hungry, lots food to chose from. This is a resort to go to if you want to relax and there is always something going on that you can join in if you want. There was a great mix of people there. Would go back there tomorrow if I could. Great job all. Picture to follow

Amazing place. Paradise. My mom was at Breezes September 2013. She was in love with this place. So she decided me to go there as well:) Very clean area everywhere . Rooms are beautiful especially the ones with seaview. Very friendly people. Especially Oralis (she is working in buffet), she is very nice helpful girl. She has high level of customer service. She should train people how to work;) - and Pedro( he works in entertainment ) is talented, smart, hardworking person. He has incredible voice,he is amazing dancer and great chess player. I had wonderful unforgettable time. Definitely would love to come back. Strongly suggest to take jeep safari. Swimming in the cave is something you will always remember. I'm not very picky so for me everything was excellent. I hope to come back to this little paradise.

“Fun fun fun in the sun ”
Just back from 2 glorious weeks at Breezes Jibacoa. Having researched going to Cuba extensively we settled on the breezes Jibacoa. It was billed as a 4 star hotel and I have to say the services available do reflect that. The surroundings are a little dated but the gardens are fantastically kept by Luis and his team of gardeners. The staff at the hotel are brilliant, too many to name but all very friendly. I especially want to mention the entertainment or Animation team, Myleen, Mikey, Pedro, Jordanis and the rest of the team. They worked tirelessly throughout the 2 weeks we were there. I am already looking to book again next year. During October the hotel has Oktoberfest and lots of games to play throughout the day and evening. If I have just one minor gripe, it's the fact that the nightclubs air conditioning was broken and apparently has been for a couple of years. I wholeheartedly recommend going here.

“A WEDDING TO DIE FOR ”
Dawn and myself have taken our two weeks holiday at Oktober fest as normal. However this year we decided to get married. We contacted Sarah Capotes Macias and told her of our plans. We then went through Virgin Holiday and Alice was our co-ordinator in the UK. So here we are Breezes, a great welcoming from Sarah and our friends. Well we stayed in the sea-front suite, absolutely fantastic. Games and laughter, however paperwork and money still to be sorted out. Well it was all a painless exercise. Now the big days arrived, I was in total shock as everyone seemed to play a part. Sarah or course, gardeners, entertainment, bar staff and of course the food and drinks manager and the Head Chef. Well it went off like a dream, pink convertible brought my bride to the beach. My forty odd guests were all seated, the ceremony went off like a dream. a top photographer and cameraman supplied by Sarah, true professionals. The first dance and toast were performed on the beach, my bride was totally taken back. Photos and video, then on to the meal. A five course meal of the highest quality was produced. Most of my guest had been to Breezes more times than I would like to remember, but the were in awe of the delicious meal presented to us at the beach bar (Ranchero). That was the beach show, brilliant night. The next six days was nothing but fun and laughter. Sarah and The Management, truly performed a miracle. Not to forget the Entertainment Team, who are always top notch. See you next year.

      “Great second time ”
We visited back in June 2012 and loved the hotel enough to return, we were not disappointed. Only thing I would say is that as a returning guest we received no welcome back or indeed the warm greeting that people say you revive as a returning guest. First room 1170 was next to a very noisy unit which we complained about and were moved the next day very promptly. The air con was faulty for 5 nights which blew warm air making it a very unpleasant environment to sleep in, we understand the whole block had the same problem. Only other grumble was the new treadmills were unpacked but the safety keys not made accessible to use them, we ran on the beach which was lovely but maybe these should be available at 7am when the gym opens. The staff were all very pleasant some more than others.we went out in a 1956 Chevy our driver Odeitty Sosa Prado was excellent and you can book him prior to arriving or can also find him at the beach bar! He works at the hotel as a bar an also. He is a lovely chap and gave us an amazing day, thanks to our friend Rob and Alison from Norwich who we met. Odeitty can be contacted at belkislr@informed.sld.cu or cell 5352936725 or phone 53047292158. We loved the deli and this is a new edition since our last visit, played pool and table tennis. The piano bar was ok but the younger pianist was by far better than the regular guy who often didn't play and would wonder off. The room was cleaned daily and immaculate, the food was good but the wine was awful so I drank water which in the heat was the best thing. I love the beach but the music was too loud and intrusive. The entertainment team work hard and never forced you to participate and it was sad at times to see no one taking part. So all in all we had a fab time. My tips would be take thermal cups to keep drinks cold, don't take USD take sterling or Euros if from uk. Upgrade to premium with Virgin. We will be back next year and look forward to it. Please note that there is no wifi and if you need to work you can't! Not a bad thing...

“First time. We will be back! ”
This was our first time in Cuba. I traveled with my wife, brother, and best friend. We are all in the 18 - 26 age group. We all absolutely love Cuba and this resort. We are definitely planning on coming back to this beautiful location at least yearly. Hopefully for two weeks next time since 7 days just never feels like enough. If you are younger and are looking for a party place please be advised that this is a quieter resort. We personally really liked that about it, especially since we mainly like to hangout with our own group. Having said that we always met interesting people and had a lot of fun. Property: The hotel is located on quite a secluded beach about an hour away from Varadero. This is a hidden gem. Most people do not even know where Jibacoa is when they ask where we went in Cuba. The beach is beautiful and so is the property the hotel is kept on. Everything is well kept and very clean. The property is large, but not too large where it is annoying to walk from place to place. The layout of the hotel is great and completely different from a hotel you would find on a strip such as in Cancun. Some really great points are the locations of the bars such as the pool bar and beach bar. The pool is also VERY large. Lots of space to keep to yourself or join others. Bring snorkel gear. The reefs are definitely worth exploring. Rooms: I was exposed to three rooms including our own. The rooms are bigger than you will find at most hotels. Everything is very clean and well kept. Some people complain that things look a little dated such as the washrooms. I can assure you that everything works just fine and the colors a room is decorated in should not at all deter you from coming here. Our bed was comfortable and the rooms are nice and quiet at night time. Food: Please remember that this is Cuba. Anyone who knows anything at all should know that Cuba is not at all in the same position as Mexico, Dominican, or anywhere else. The food is just fine. I will not sit here and rave about it to you. It is not the best I have ever eaten, but is far from the worst as well. It is good. The food is always fresh and they do the very best they can with what they have. Keep in mind that when you are at this resort you are probably eating better than the locals do most of the time. You are in CUBA not Canada, and not Europe. Do not expect it to be the exact same way you are used to. If you are a true foodie who vacations just for the dining experience go on a cruise! I usually woke up too hungover for breakfast, but when I had it, it was good. We usually found ourselves at the beach bar for lunch. I tried and liked everything I had there. If you are really hungry like I usually am being a bigger guy you can feel free to order more fries or even two dishes if you want. I found the dinner buffets to always be reasonable. They have different themed nights and I always found a few things that I liked quite well. My favorite was on our last night when it was Caribbean themed. They actually had Oxtail which I could not believe. I absolutely loved it. Drinks: The drinks are good. I find their cups to be quite small there. I found myself ordering 4-6 beers at a time because I think their cups are 250ml or less. You may want to bring a plastic cooler cup of your own. We did and they were happy to fill them for us. You will not remain sober if you do not want to here. Lots to choose from and lots to drink. Service: The first thing I will note here is that the Cuban people are absolutely AMAZING. I have been to many other places and have never found such humble and accommodating people anywhere. The check in and checkout experience was seamless. I would specifically like to call out Noesky and Odeitty for making our trip extra special. These guys and all of the staff in general are just great. As Canadians we did tip here and there. Please remember that these people and the Cuban people in general really do not make a lot of money. It is greatly appreciated if you tip even if you are not accustomed to doing so. The average wage in the country is only $12 USD per month. If you notice the staff bending over backwards to make your experience the best it can be, TIP! Things to note: - The main hotel restaurant is not air conditioned. I really wish that it could be since sometimes you just need a bit of relief while eating after being out in the sun all day. - The lobby bar is open 24 hours and there is a snack cafe that is open until at least midnight. - Take a classic car to Havana rather than a trip with your tour company. You will not regret it. Find Odeitty and ask him about it. - We brought some of our own condiments to go with the food and we liked doing so. Stuff like bbq sauce, Franks, etc. - Bring extra clothing and toiletries to give away if you can fit them. Things in Cuba are rationed and you can really help them out by doing this. I wish I brought more and I will bring more in the future. Trust me. When you see how nice these people are you will want to do whatever you can for them. - The cappuccinos are outstanding. I had a couple everyday. Overall this is a great hotel and we had a great time there. The Breezes Jibacoa has officially taken the top spot as my favorite place to vacation. I would be more inclined to come back here rather than try a new place. Why fix what isn't broken right? I hope this review helped you out! Cuba is a unique and amazing place. Enjoy!

Once again we visited Breezes for another 2 weeks in paradise. There is just something magical about this resort and my wife and I just love it. Kiki (porter) is absolutely fantastic! He always provides exceptional service and is a joy to spend time with. He is very knowledgable and always goes above and beyond to make sure we are taken care of. Agustin on the entertainment team keeps the beats pumping in the disco and is always there to keep the fun bus rolling and what trip would be complete without spending some time with Manuel on the catamaran. He is excellent on the boat, very knowledgable and you feel incredibly safe on the water with him. The first week we there the air conditioning in our room was fantastic but they did experience some issues on the 2nd week. The staff worked diligently to resolve this for us and they were very accommodating and moved us to a new room to ensue my wife's comfort. Food is never a problem for us at the resort and Junior does a great job in the kitchen. He was even kind enough to bake a brownie mix we brought to celebrate a friends birthday. If that isn't going above and beyond I just don't know what is. The water was beautiful and smooth as glass when we were there. September is definitely a good time to go. The resort is making some upgrades and we saw them doing some of them while we were there. One thing you can be assured of is that the staff really take pride in the cleanliness of the facilities and the grounds are kept immaculate. If you visit it's always a good idea to say hi to Sarah in guest relations. She is fantastic and if you have issues she is very friendly and always happy to help. Snorkelling is great on the beach and there is an abundance of sea life waiting to be explored. If you are looking for a restaurant off the resort look at La Torre! It was incredible and the food was amazing, not to mention the live music and staff. The restaurant is just 10 minutes up the road on the top of a water tower that was built prior to the revolution. We went once and booked a 2nd reservation before we left the first time it was soooo good. We also visited Los Amigos in Santa Cruz del Norte. Great food and large portions which is always another option. The average age at the resort does tend to be an older quieter crowd but this suits us perfectly as we aren't interested in a party hotel. All in all a great trip and we will be back soon! Highly recommended

      a privileged beach and nature
The Breezes Jibacoa Hotel has a privileged location on Arroyo Bermejo Beach - in western Havana province - and is surrounded by a small hill characterized by a beautiful seascape and exuberant vegetation. The establishment is 70 kilometers away from José Martí International Airport and 60 kilometers from Varadero's airport. The facility recreates an old hacienda by the beach and is an excellent place for both single people and couples, since it has been designed to please guests over 16 years of age

      Nice
My review reflects my personal experience. Four years ago I would have given this resort a 4 to 4.5 star rating. This time I would have to rate it a 3.5 due to the dining experience issues that can easily be rectified through staff enhancement and ensuring food replenishment and table resetting are prompt. Last year was the "good old days" for food quality and quantity. Please, no preformed patties for the hamburgers or "Dougie burgers". Finally, if the staff are working hard (with noted exceptions)then I must assume that management changes have caused concerns and only they can rectify them. First trip to Cuba, so was not expecting a whole lot. Hotel is a little older, but extremely clean and well kept. Food was to die for, as was the Snorkelling. Best snorkelling we have ever encountered and right out front. Great service, not so busy, and really relaxing. Breezes Jibacoa Best for Snorkelling

      Magic
The SuperClubs Breezes Jibacoa, with a four-star category, is the company's newest hotel in the country. The unspoiled setting and a clean and calm sea turn this hotel into a natural option with the conveniences our guests need. Since it is very close to Havana, Matanzas City, and Varadero Beach, you can easily visit these places of tourist, historic, and cultural interest

      Beautiful resort
Breezes Jibacoa: Overall this resort met all my needs. The weather was scorching hot everyday, the room was kept clean and tidy, the food was great, the drinks were always flowing, the pool was cool, and the people - as always - were beyond lovely! I think we have finally found our 'repeat' resort and look forward to heading back here next year :)

      Paradise!
We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite during our stay! The room was gorgeous - two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room. And then in our actual bedroom we had a king size bed, desk, chest of drawers and a couch/TV sitting area. It was very clean, and kept that way by our maid. We had a huge balcony that extended from the living room to our bedroom. No complaints about the room whatsoever! I wil back Breezes Jibacoa

The main buffet restaurant was lovely and always had great food available. Breakfast was particularly delicious with fresh eggs being made the way you want them, fresh bread, yummy jams, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal - whatever you could possibly want! Lunch and supper were pretty similar - but tons of choices to meet anyones needs. My only complaint about the buffet is that it is open air, which is lovely in the evenings, but during the day when you want to escape the heat while eating. Wonderful Breezes Jibacoa

      did not disappoint.
I took my first dip in the pool this trip (we are not pool people so rarely spend time there). It was so very hot the first 12 days of our stay and late one afternoon, after a day at the beach, we just wanted to cool off so we hopped into the pool. Even though there were a lot of people lounging around the pool, only a few were in the water and it was an enjoyable experience. It really is a quite beautiful area of the resort. The hot tubs were always occupied but we've never understood why people would go to the tropics to sit in a hot tub when it's up in the 80's...huh??? The hot tubs are drained around 10pm to keep any unruly guests from disturbing people in the pool view rooms with late night antics. Smart move! We spend our time at the beach and were blessed with fantastic weather for 12 straight days...hot, hot, hot and calm so we made sure we got in snorkeling every day. You just never know when the weather will change and it did, big time at the beginning of our third week. The weekend was cool and cloudy but Monday returned to clear skies but very windy. It stayed this way for the rest of the week and the beach was red flagged due to rough waters and so many man o' wars washing in it became the talk of the resort. No one, including the locals, had ever seen it so bad. They were strung like a necklace along the whole length of the beach. What a sight. This was a much needed break and, once again, Breezes Jibacoa did not disappoint.
