Requirements to make reservations
All reservations must be made with the exact name of the main driver or additional drivers, nicknames or pseudonyms will not be accepted, the name that appears on the reservation must appear as it appears on the travel document, (passport, identification and driver's license), Once the reservation is confirmed, any change or correction will be subject to the penalties of the car rental companies, CUBA TECH TRAVEL is not responsible for these errors and will not assume expenses for corrections requested by the drivers.
The rate includes
Number of rental days contracted, category of the selected vehicle, air conditioning, limited or unlimited mileage, insurance included or not included as appropriate.
Documentation and driver requirements
To collect the reserved vehicle, you must present the following documents at the rental point:
Confirmation voucher printed on paper of your reservation issued by CUBA TECH TRAVEL and its suppliers in the name of the main driver or additional drivers. (Name changes are not accepted).
National or international driver's license of the main driver as well as the additional drivers, the license must be valid and the driver must have two years of experience.
Original passport or identity document of the main driver as well as the additional drivers, the identity documents must be current. (Photocopies are not accepted).
The minimum age to rent a car is 21.
It is allowed to add additional drivers, when picking up the vehicle all drivers must be present to sign the rental contract, each driver must present the required current documentation, the charges will be charged directly by the rental company. Each rental company establishes its own charges:
VíaCar: 30.00 USD on the total value of the rent regardless of day limits.
Rex: 10.00 USD on the total value of the rent regardless of day limits.
Cubacar -Havanautos: 3.00 USD x each rental day that adds the additional driver.
Note: The aforementioned charges apply to each additional driver.
A tax of 20.00 USD will be charged whenever the vehicle is collected or returned at a rental branch located within an airport in Cuba, this charge will be charged by the rental company directly.
A mandatory liability relief insurance for damage to the vehicle must be paid, check directly with the rental company at the time of delivery for the details of the coverage in each case. This charge varies depending on the category of the rented car, these values are not refundable. Some providers already include this value in their rental conditions, check well before proceeding to reserve. If the provider you chose does not include this insurance in its prices, you must pay the following values:
Economic Category: 10.00 to 15.00 USD per day
Medium Category: 15.00 USD per day
SUV Category: 15.00 USD per day
Upper-middle Category: USD 20.00 per day
High standard jeep Category: 20.00 USD per day
Premium Category: 30.00 USD per day
Van Category: 30.00 USD per days
The client must pay a guarantee deposit for specific damages to the vehicle not covered in the liability relief insurance, this deposit will depend on the category of car rented. The guarantee is refundable as long as the client fully complies with the terms established in the rental contract.

In the case of the Havanautos and Cubacar rental companies, the policy establishes that the client must pay the amount of gasoline in the tank at the time of pick-up of the car according to the current price, the client must deliver the car with the minimum amount of gasoline, No value will be refunded for unused fuel.
In the case of ViaCar, the customer picks up the car with a certain amount of fuel and has to return it with the same amount.
The rental contract establishes the type of fuel to be used and the specific conditions, the client must verify the filling capacity at the time of receiving his car. CUBA TECH TRAVEL is not responsible for any discrepancy between the lessor and the client in this matter.
Payments at the Rents points
Payments to be made at the aforementioned rental point must be made by credit card, cash is not accepted.
The client understands that CUBA TECH TRAVEL will automatically charge the value of their reservation once the reservation request is confirmed.
CUBA TECH TRAVEL uses automated systems throughout the reservation process, the client understands that if a request is confirmed the system will charge the offered rate from the credit or debit card provided, CUBA TECH TRAVEL reserves the right to charge the values of the reservation within a period of 72 hours after the request.
The client accepts that she will not be able to make a revocation of payments in her bank once the reservation is confirmed, if the client voluntarily authorized the transaction and later denies having done so, CUBA TECH TRA describe the right to provide all the required information.
The client understands that any cancellation after confirmation of the reservation will be subject to our cancellation policies.
The client understands that any fraudulent transaction identified by our systems will be reported to the authorities and their reservation will be automatically canceled, we are committed to the fight against fraud.
CUBA TECH TRAVEL may ask its clients for documents that prove that they are holders of the credit or debit cards used in their reservation orders.
The client understands that payments by checks and bank transfers must be made payable to CUBA TECH TRAVEL.
In cases of refunds, CUBA TECH TRAVEL will only write checks in favor of the holder of the reservation or the holder of the same bank account from which the funds were collected.
The prices offered by CUBA TECH TRAVEL establish that the vehicle is returned at the same branch that it was collected, if the client decides to deliver his car at any other branch or another province, he must pay the drop-off values directly to the rental company, Check directly with the rental company when signing your contract.
The rates offered are calculated based on each 24-hour rental day from the moment the vehicle is collected, the car must be delivered at the same time it is collected. The rental companies reserve the right to apply extra charges for this breach, if the client decides to deliver the vehicle before the time established in their contract, no value will be reimbursed for this concept.
All rented cars have this service 24 hours a day, you must call the emergency numbers indicated in your rental contract.
Involuntary changes are considered, modifications made by car rental companies beyond the control of the driver, for example (change in pick-up time, cancellations due to force majeure, etc.), CUBA TECH TRAVEL is not responsible for changes caused by car rental companies. cars, passengers should contact the offices of the rental company directly to find out the possible solutions they will offer and the respective compensation. CUBA TECH TRAVEL may mediate to seek reasonable and acceptable agreements between the rental companies and the clients, any change that is notified by the rental companies will be informed to the client by email or by telephone, make sure to offer us your information correctly. We recommend you check the status of your reservation 24 hours before your arrival. CUBA TECH TRAVEL is not responsible for last minute changes.
CUBA TECH TRAVEL does not change reservations without the consent of the traveler, any modification to your reservation must be done directly by the reservation holder by calling our central or associated offices.
Any change generates penalties, please consult them before proceeding to request them.
CUBA TECH TRAVEL is not responsible if any of the changes requested by the client cannot be made due to policies of the rental companies or due to lack of availability.
All changes are subject to availability and authorization from the renter's reservation center.
CUBA TECH TRAVEL reserves the right to charge a management fee for changes to your reservations. (Consult them)
It is considered a no show not to show up at the rental point and not have notified the rental company or our reservation center about possible changes in your reservation).
The policies of the rental companies establish that if you do not arrive at the rental point on time, you do not pick up your car on the indicated day, you are not allowed to enter the country, or your identification documents are not in order (passport, identification and driver's license ), your reservation will be considered as a no show, your reservation will be canceled and you will be charged the established expenses (consult them), we recommend you contact the rental company or our reservation center in case of any unforeseen event that may occur (flight cancellations or delays, events force majeure, etc.).
CUBA TECH TRAVEL is not responsible for refunds required by clients for some of the aforementioned factors, it is the client's responsibility to comply with the terms and conditions of this reservation contract.
CUBA TECH TRAVEL will not offer information to other people who do not appear in the reservation, any query or change related to the reservation must be requested directly by the passenger.
CUBA TECH TRAVEL does not disclose customer information or use it to send unauthorized promotions to their emails or cell phones, the information collected is completely confidential.
The client may make modifications to their reservation at any time taking into account the following penalties, all changes are subject to availability and possible price differences.
The client will be able to modify her order if her reservation has not been confirmed, no expenses will be charged for managing the reservation.
The client may modify her reservation within the next 24 hours after confirmation is made up to 72 hours before the start of her rental, this modification will generate a penalty of $ 50.00 for mandatory management expenses, and possible difference in rate.
If the changes cannot be made and the client does not arrive to pick up his car, the no show costs apply (CUBA TECH TRAVEL is not responsible for last minute changes, the client must be aware of our cancellation policies, no show and voluntary changes.)
Cuba Tech Travel acts in accordance with the rate rules of the car rental companies and its own regulations, reserving the right to establish them according to their contracts.
The client understands that any change or cancellation of her reservation will generate the following penalties, by accepting them the client confirms that she understands and wishes to continue with her reservation:
The customer may cancel her order if her reservation has not been confirmed, no booking management fees will be charged.
If the reservation is canceled between 24 hours of its confirmation and at least 7 days before the rental start time, all funds will be refunded, except a cancellation fee of $ 100.00 USD and a card processing fee of 3 % of the total amount paid.
If the reservation is canceled between 7 days and 4 days before the rental start time, all funds will be refunded, except a cancellation fee of $ 150.00 USD and a card processing fee of 3% of the total value paid .
If the reservation is canceled between 4 days and 1 day before the rental start time, all funds will be refunded, except a cancellation fee of $ 200.00 USD and a card processing fee of 3% on the total value paid .
If the reservation is canceled within 24 hours of the start of the rental, or you do not show up to pick up the rented car, no value will be refunded and the reservation will be taken as a no show.
No show policy
The client must take into account that CUBA TECH TRAVEL and the car rental companies act indistinctly with the airlines, train lines, cruise ships and other means of transport, any delay that prevents the client from arriving to pick up his car at the established time is completely their responsibility and must be communicated to the rental office or our reservation center.
The client understands that not showing up to pick up the car on the day and time established and not communicating or requesting a change from the rental company or our reservation center will incur a penalty of 100% of the amount paid. (No refund is made)
