  • City tour Havana is located in Havana
  • Capital of Cuba and the country's administrative, political, cultural and scientific center, it is also the capital of two provinces: City of Havana and Havana. Though only around 280 square miles (727 square kilometers) in size-0.65 percent of the archipelago's total area.

The Old Havana and system of forts led UNESCO to declare it a part of world heritage in 1982. Founded on its present site in 1519, the settlement of San Cristobal de La Habana prospered mainly due to its bay, which was a natural port of call for ships sailing to and from the New World. Starting in 1634, because of its strategic location, San Cristobal de La Habana was considered the key to the New World-as attested to by royal letters patent-and the main defense of the West Indies.

The Cuban capital consists of an immense number of buildings in a wide range of architectural styles, built in the course of nearly five centuries. These styles range from the pre-baroque to the baroque, neo-Gothic, neoclassical, eclectic, art noveau and art-deco, to the modern.

Alejo Carpentier, one of Cuba's most famous authors, called it "the city of columns" and focused attention on its streets, which he considered a perennially rich show of life, humanity and contrasts that was bound to entertain any observer.

Over 14 kilometers of excellent beaches lie to the east of the Cuban capital. To the south, a green belt contributes to a healthful atmosphere.

    City tour Havana
See some of the city´s main attractions with this stylish two-hour ride. This exclusive drive is followed by a one-hour walking tour through the historical and colonial district, Old Havana (Habana Vieja), which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. It's a so-called ´panoramic tour´ because you will pass by many landmarks but not enter them. This is a perfect introduction to Havana and to see a little of what Havana has to offer, to revisit it later individually with more time and leisure. The vintage cars from the´50s, some once owned by American movie stars or gangsters, give colour and shape to the streets of Havana. Most of these automobiles are privately owned and can be seen in use as taxis for local people on fixed routes...much to the disappointment of many international visitors. With the option of this classic car city tour, you can experience an exotic ride in an antique car while also checking out the sights! The ride in the classic car will take you along the Malecón, the beautiful seaside boulevard of Havana. Its seafront wall is an important social, inspiring, and romantic spot for all Habanero´s. Except for strolling along the Malecón, there is no other appropriate way to pass this coastal road in style than in a classic car. You will also ride along the streets of Miramar. This residential area is one of Havana´s most upscale districts. Its stately avenues are lined with embassies, mansions, and towering and flowering trees. The tour will also bring you to The Revolution Square (Plaza de la Revolución). This large zone encompasses an area of approximately 72,000 m2. The creation of the square was started in 1953 and completed in 1959. It was originally called Plaza Cívica but was renamed to Plaza de la Revolución shortly after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. A walk through the historical old town, Habana Vieja, is like a visit to an open air museum. The majority of interesting sights can be explored on foot as the district is predominantly pedestrian. After the guided walk through Habana Vieja, your tour will come to a conclusion. The return to your hotel is not included but who would want to go back to their hotel now? Enjoy lunch or a drink on a terrace in Habana Vieja and capture the essence of this remarkable city.

    City tour Havana
If you divide the capitol in two parts, you will get Old Havana, largely car-free so you will visit this part on foot. This historic and colonial center is an open air museum of architecture, art and culture – a real treat for history and culture buffs. The other half is called modern Havana, but certainly not less interesting, just very urban and genuine, with definitely historical toppers, although from a later era. Listed on the agenda, in random order: Plaza San Francisco de Asís - Plaza de la Catedral - Plaza Vieja - Plaza de Armas - Palacio de los Capitanes Generales (City Museum) - Capitol - Parque Central - Bar-restaurant Floridita and Bodeguito del medio - University of Havana - Plaza de la Revolución (Revolution Square) and the boulevard Malecón. The Parque Morro- Cabaña was one of the greatest defenses ever built by the Spaniards in what was then called the New World. The fort is on the other side of Havana Bay and offers spectacular views over the city. So you see that you can witness a lot in just 3 hours, and after this orientation… you revisit the landmarks of your interest at your own pace and with your own compass.
