Description: Hotel Raquel Hotel Cuba
Raquel Hotel is located very near the Old Square, in the heart of Old Havana. The romantic atmosphere of the building proposed by its art nouveau style and expressive eclectic projections highlight the architecture of the building. It’s the biblical name and some of its spaces allegorically evoke the Hebrew culture. Three floors and a terrace compose the hotel. The majestic sculpture of the ground floor along with the marble columns catches the eye. It has an elegant specialized restaurant.

The Raquel Hotel, near to Plaza Vieja (Old Square) and Saint Francis of Assisi Square, in the Cuban capital, has a seductive and harmonious Art Noveau architectural style. The building is 20 kilometers away from José Martí International Airport. In addition to its terrace-lookout, the hotel has art galleries and well-decorated and tranquil places for leisure. According to experts, its Biblical name and some of its areas - the Lejaim Lobby-Bar, Jardín de Edén Restaurant and Bezalel Boutique - are an allegoric evocation of Hebrew culture in Cuba.
“Rock hard beds ”
As we had already booked a tour through Cuba, We stayed twice in this stunning hotel during our 2 nights in Havana. Room 202 has single beds, and we found them to be rock hard. I ended up with welts all over me by the morning. Hmmm. On our return we had room 201, the ceiling was mouldy and beds felt damp with a musty smell. The breakfasts could be improved, pretty ordinary. The hotel and location itself are both excellent, but infortunately next time I would definitely upgrade for a decent nights sleep.Staff were very polite and helpful. This would be a magnificent hotel if it could get itself at least a four star rating.
