“Not sure why this is a business hotel for visitors from all over the world. ”
This hotel is not a business hotel as it claims. There are no taxis ever to be found in front of this hotel requireing the hotel to call for a taxi each time you need one. I waited over 1/2 hour for taxi which never came in morning and finally was offered a ride by someone observing my irritation. Neither did the front desk clerk concern herself either as she was busy joking with another man at desk. The breakfast is the worst I have ever encountered with things on the buffet that I was never able to identify so I was always hungry right after eating the few things that I could identity. If you have a meeting at the Palco, stay at the Melia Habana or others close by...its a small taxi fee and well worth not being irritated by a place that bills itself as business hotel which it is not. Also they don't take anyone's credit cards, not just Americans, but people from Mexico and elsewhere all had their cards rejected so not sure why that happened.

“good overall but terrible to contact this hotel by email/phone. ”
Booking this hotel online was VERY inconvenient. First, the email address they provide on their website fails to deliver your email. After several of my emails were bounced back, i had to call the hotel which costs a fortune because no one understood my pricing questions. Then when i provided my email address and asked someone to email me back, they said they would but did not. Finally, when i went ahead and booked online, despite my reservations about this hotel's services, it took over three days for them to confirm whether my colleagues and i indeed got the rooms we requested. We then had to wait to book our flight and lost out on a seat sale.... I know Cuba is not as advanced as North America but considering the rates they charge, they should be able to provide simple services like an email address that works and some efficient services, like confirming your stay within 24 hours.

“Good hotel, but definitely not an international business hotel”
I stayed at Hotel Palco for one week for a conference. It's a good hotel and I think it's really good value for money, although the service needs A LOT of improving. It states that it's an international business hotel, so I thought that would mean they would speak English as well as Spanish, and would have all the things you need when travelling for work. The staff at the front desk are not helpful at all, but the bar staff are nice. I found it very strange to turn up to a hotel and have no one explain anything to you when you check in - they don't tell you where things are, or what time breakfast is etc. But to be honest, I've found this is common in Cuba generally - people will help you but they won't go out of their way - you really have to ask and be specific. The breakfast buffet is pretty good at the hotel, although the dinner menu is limited (but the drinks are cheap!). There is VERY slow internet, but considering it's Cuba it's pretty good that they have internet at all! It's on the pricey side - US$5 per hour on the computers in the lobby or US$10 per day in your room. I think as it's a conference hotel internet should really be included. The conference facilities are very good - one of the best I've seen actually (aside from the internet). The hotel isn't in a particularly exciting part of town but you can go into Havana easily. I recommend staying a few nights in Havana as well as it's where all the action is. The rooms are nice, although DO NOT use the bathrooms around the hotel - there is hardly any toilet paper and there are NO toilet seats - I found this very strange for a conference hotel I must admit. Just a warning - you need to know a little Spanish to get by here in this hotel. I can speak a little and still found it extremely difficult. All in all, good hotel and worth the money, but to really claim to be an international business hotel there are certainly improvements to be made.

“good conference hotel - except wifi ”
Srayed here as part of a conference, so convenience was main objective. The reception staff were very concerned that there was no room ready when I arrived, and I did well with a quiet room on the fourth floor. Breakfast was OK, and there are good options for lunch/dinner all about the complex. There is a good pool and a grill by the pool. Like the rest of Cuba the connection to the Internet was poor - and for a conference hotel that matters. a long way from central Havana - but there are taxis. Still would not recommend it if you intend to enjoy Havana.

“Very nice hotel 20-25 minutes by car from Old Havana ”
Very nice hotel located in area surrounded by grand embassy homes and close to Raul and Fidel Castro's estate. Our American tour group was booked into this hotel for two nights after we were "bumped" from a reservation at Hotel Nacional de Cuba. All-in-all this hotel was far better maintained than the Hotel Nacional and its rooms were nicer. While not a "grand hotel" in the style of Hotel Nacional, it has a great pool area with bar and a friendly and accommodating staff. Its location affords a nice respite from the fumes of downtown Havana. It is also close to the Miramar area. For what it is worth, this hotel appears to be more popular with non-United States tourists; in contrast, the Hotel Nacional de Cuba is teeming with U.S. tourists.

“Don't book and pay online! ”
Please be warned not to book rooms and pay by card on this hotel's website. Friends found that when they arrived with such a booking and receipt in hand they were refused rooms and the reception staff was rather unhelpful. Payments and orders go to an agent, but no information about this on the website, and apparantly the agent did not inform the hotel nor passed the payment over. And hotel refused responsibility for their own website. My friends had to pay for two rooms for two nights until hotelowner and agent turned up. The hotel is a nice 4 star hotel, old and worn. Good to stay in for the reasonable price. But 25 mts by taxi to the old town of Havana.

      “I loved this hotel ”
Like most others I was here at a conference. I loved every minute of it- the rooms, the staff and the 24 hour bar, expecially during a category 4 hurricane which passed right over us. I agree that it is just that little bit far from the action and it is expensive if you are one person travelling back and forth to Havana. However it is worth it - I don't get to Havana often enough!!

      “Clean and Comfortable”
I spent a week at the Palco while on a business trip with a friend. The hotel is very modern and about as nice as most north american business class hotels. It is in a central location with easy access to most of Havana. About 15 minutes from Old Havana and 10 minutes to the Airport. The pool area is nice and well kept. Breakfast buffet has a great selection of fresh fruits and other favorites. Nice quite area. While in town, be sure to check out El Palenque, a restaurant that's a short distance from the hotel (ask at the front desk). Great food and reasonable prices. Wine and spaghetti for 2 people for only $11USD. All the food is excellent. You'll go back every day.

      “Enjoyed the Palco ”
I spent 8 nights( 7/6-7/14) at the Hotel Palco . On balance my experience was very positive. The hotel staff was accomodating, friendly and kowledgeable. I was impressesd with the wide open lounge area and the overall bar service. The buffet breakfast was acceptable. I found the simple hotel grill service above average and the both the prices and the meals were reasonable. The primary limitation of Hotel Palco is its distance from "the action" in Havana. As such, the $7-$10 taxi fares was expensive for one person. However, if one could get others to share the cost, this expense was not unreasonable. I would recommend the Hotel Palco with the caveats noted above.

      “Very comfortable ”
I attended a conference at the Palco.Top facilities. The hotel staff is tops. They make you feel welcome after the short 45 minute flight from Miami. The food is good and very cheap. 1/2 chicken, rice beans, french fries, and salad for $6.00. Pizza for $3.00.Rooms are basic and are spotless and offer CNN, ESPN, Discovery channel and a few more. The bathrooms are big (bring totel paper...they have sand paper in Cuba) but one needs to get used to the lack of a toilet seat. The pool area is very nice with lounge chairs and great flowers. The hotel is about a $6.00 cab ride to Central Havana. If you are looking for a hotel in the action this is not your place. If you would like a quiet haven to return to at the end of the day, this is then place.

      Good Hotel and Nice
The Palco Hotel, a key element in congress and incentive tourism programs in Cuba, benefits from its proximity to Havana's International Conference Center, of which it is a complement. Located at a few-minute drive from Old Havana, the hotel is linked to the country's main convention center by a gallery of commercial establishments, where paintings by Cuban artists are exhibited. In addition, guests have easy access to the residential neighborhood of Miramar, where the main embassies and commercial firms have their offices.
