Marlin summons two great Cuban nautical events

Two flagship nautical events in the Greater Antilles announce their dates for the coming months, with the help of Empresa Marinas y Náuticas Marlin S.A.

From October 26 to 30, the seas that surround the Jardines del Rey spa will be the scene of the Big Game Trolling International Sport Fishing Tournament, in its eighth edition. Arley Rodríguez Suárez, commercial deputy director of the Marlin Branch in the territory, invited professional and amateur fishermen from around the world to this event in which participants will be able to estimate the region's potential for the development of sport fishing. Species such as wahoo, marlin, castero, dorado and tuna abound in the area, and the rules of the Sport Fishing Federation (IGFA) will be applied under the modality of marking and releasing the pieces. .

One of the purposes of the contest is to use the benefits offered by the northern Cuban keys, where the Jardines del Rey tourist destination is located, to provide travelers with other recreational options, in addition to sun and beach.

For its part, between October 30 and November 3, the FotoSub 2021 International Underwater Photography Event will be held. In the province of Cienfuegos, the Faro Luna International Diving Center will host the program of this contest, whose main objective is the selection and presentation of photographs of the underwater flora and fauna of Cuba, obtained during the competition days.

The Faro Luna International Diving Center covers approximately 3.5 nautical miles, and among its most outstanding dive sites, the coral formation known as “La Dama del Caribe” stands out. In the area there are also more than 10 sunken ships, very well preserved. Diverse manifestations of caves, tunnels and passages, together with the flora and fauna of significant variety, make this scene a unique place for the practice of underwater photography.
