Founded by Adelantado Diego Velázquez with the name of San Salvador de Bayamo as the second village of the Spaniards in the island in 1513, this captivating city treasures a valuable historical patrimony. "Espejo de Paciencia", the first Cuban literary work, was written in this village; and here, also for the first time, was sung Bayamo Anthem on June 11th, 1868, which later
