This route has a 6.000 meters length. Partly it goes along the Western slope of the Valle del RĂo San Juan, and partly along the margins of this river. After having walked the first kilometer, one arrives to an excellent vantage point allowing the visitor to appreciate the picturesque Las Terrazas community, harmonically inserted in the surrounding Nature. All along the route, the visitor may appreciate the wide biodiversity of the vegetation, flora and fauna, particularly the evergreen forests, the wide plains vegetation, and the pine forests, and learn about the different uses the local population makes of each of these vegetal species. After descending more then 3.000 meters one arrives to the ruins of the Santa Serafina coffee plantation, located at the margins of the San Juan River. This historic place, founded in the early XIX century, was the result of the French presence in Sierra del Rosario and the consequent development of the coffee plantations, after the Haitian revolution in 1791. Once the visit has concluded, the route continues descending 2.000 meters through the river valley, to reach the Rancho del Curujey.
