Hotel Vedado
I have been to Havana 16 times and have stayed in almost every 3 star hotel in the city, including Lincoln, Deauville, Colina and St. John's. Six of my students and I stayed in the Vedado this trip. The Vedado was superb in terms of the price, how clean the rooms where, availability of hot water, great breakfast, clean swimming pool, nice staff and fantastic location. Anyone who complains should try and stay in a North American hotel for $38. a night, including breakfast....I don't think you would find one......I definitely would stay here in the future......

The rooms are simple, pretty bad shape. Then there is smoking allowed everywhere, smells when no fresh air seemed to be just the same old.
We were without water in the room for 2 days and once we had water, it was a little narrow beam which was for us two girls four days without washing your hair. Had Tv but no channels, no Wifi at the hotel. Closest hotel with wifi; trip hotel.
Breakfast ok, bad odor / air in the dining room. Friendly staff.
Was not so much around the hotel, a short taxi ride to Old Havana (5 miles) from there is also a bus to the beach (playa de este) from central park.
