    “Never again”
I came hear for my twenty first birthday. Lets just say I was pretty well pissed I called it a holiday. The hallways smelled like piss. The food was awful to the point I didn't even eat. Most the staff were absolutely rude example being that they asked for tips and gifts ( in my opinion extremely rude). Also our flight got delayed 7 hrs and they refused to give us another room without pay, which I didn't care if the lobby was air conditioned Like advertised. The rooms had cockroaches. The view from the room was broken bricks and rebar. The music played way to loud in the morning. The air conditioning in the room worked half the time. There were cats and birds in the dining area. Like really it was ridiculous.

    “poor service ”
Hotel is OK , rooms bot to bad. To visit be prepared, service is horrible and tje guest don't make it any easier. Lines and battles at the buffet. You ask for anything from most of the employees and they answer you back with an attitude. They have no interest in working there.

    “March Break 2014 ”
A friend and I travelled to the Brisas Del Caribe in March 2014. We were previously warned by the travel agency that the hotel was run down and not worth the amount of money we were paying. We arrived at the hotel early so we had to wait for our room to be cleaned (it took over 4 hours for us to get into our room). Rooms: The rooms were decent - had what you needed, but weren't "nice" by any means. Our shower was broken and it took along time to have someone come in to look at it. Food: Blah, there were things to eat, but it wasn't good. The buffet restaurant had a smell about it too that made me sick every time I walked by it. Beach: The beach is beautiful!!!! It made up for the hotel :) Pool: Dirty! There was sand, band-aides and bugs in it the entire week! If you can find a deal for $500 or less, sure I'd go back...but if it was anything more than that not a chance.

    “Where do I start?”
The maids, buffet staff and bar staff were awesome. The 2 stars I gave this resort are bc of the maids, buffet staff and bar staff. If it wasnt for them the resort would get a 0. If you had to ask the front desk a question, good luck getting an answer out of them. Have no idea where the life guards are for the pool or why it closes at 7pm when there are NO life guards all day. If you get injured good luck with that also, being that medical is only there for a minimal time. Brochure stated 4 a la cartes, only knew of 2, also stated wi fi, we couldnt get any at all throughout the resort. Security is always harrassing about having a guy with a car to go to Havana, and to buy cigars. If I wanted any of that I would ask someone, these guys should concentrate on there job and not making extra money. WIsh I had more positive things to say about this place but I dont. There are areas of the hotel that are falling apart, Cuba has seen the last of my money.

    “Beautiful Property”
Where do I begin. We purchased an all inclusive package from Selloff Vacations, which was a Sunwing Package. We stayed for the week of October 21 to 28, and purchased a VIP Gardenview package. When we arrived we were told that package wasn't available on check in to come back the next day. They gave us a room and pointed us in the direction of the elevator. We are seniors and expected a porter to handle our bags as this has happened in other locations in Cuba. The elevator didn't want to work and we walked up to the fourth floor, then found we had gone one floor too many. The room was clean, average size, bathroom was a for piece, and deck overlooking the pool area. The next morning we went back down to get the package we had paid for, and the front desk wanted to know why? They said they would look after it if we were willing to stay in the same room, and we said ok but please fix the tv. Finally after no action on Thursday we spoke with the Sunwing rep. Mabel, she was a sweetheart, she got everything done by the end of the day, including a free lobster dinner for our troubles. We didn't get all of the package but what we got was ok, along with late checkout. The hotel is beautiful, but it is very old, so be prepared for some of the things behind walls that you may find. The pools were lovely, although they need work, and the beach was lovely and clean, with a beach boy for the lounges. Food, that is always a biggy. We ate at the Italian restaurant and the food was good, beef is not a good choice, we spoke to people who ate at the seafood restaurant and some got sick. The buffet was very repetitive, breakfast was the best meal of the day as you could have your eggs how you wanted them. Lunch and dinner, not great for us, as we didn't want to get sick and there was a lot of salad, and the hot food was not that appetizing. Ice crème was delicious. This hotel is very loud, good for the young crowd, but I wouldn't recommend it for seniors as there are a lot of stairs to get to the buffet, and to get outside. Elevators don't always work. Lots of chairs around the pool and beach, but one problem I had was I was bitten badly by sand fleas, which I believe I got them from the chairs as they were material, so I took a can of raid with me and sprayed before I sat on them. The staff at this hotel are great, they all try to go out of their way to make you welcome and enjoy your vacation. If you travel Sunwing I would suggest you upgrade your seats to have more room as you are very cramped, the guy next to me had his knees almost in his chest, as he was so tall. There was a lot of security wandering around. When checking out we asked the staff at the front desk, what is the best way to book the extra packages, like vip, or honeymoon, etc. and they told us to book a basic package and upgrade when you get to the hotel, especially if you are a returning guest. Would I go back, maybe, although we did find it noisy.

“Bare bones, No Frills Cuban Hotel ”
My wife (fiance at the time), mother-in-law and brother-in-law stayed here in June 2008 for 1 week. I remember it like it was yesterday. Please note as this was 6 years ago, the place.May have changed. Pros: -cheap price -pools are good *can't think of many pros (other than its a good cheap place if you want to party and drink with other like-minded people THE BEACH !!!!! I've been to Punta Cana, Bahamas, Florida, Barbados, Jamaica, Italy and HANDS down the best beach you will ever see is in Varadero, Cuba. -Havana day trip is a MUST! Awesome experience. Cons: -Rooms were dated, in need of upgrades -nothing remotely fancy.about this place -snack bar is at the opposite end from the main lobby (a good hike ) -entertainment at night was only several male and female singers at night on an amateur stage (no shows ) -as it's cheap, many young people getting drunk day and night I would never in a million years stay here again. But it's not as bad as some of the $500 tax included 2-3 star places. Good if you're young and on a budget and.want to Varadero for the first.time.

    “August 30 - September 6, 2014 ”
Everything from the Sunwing Flights to/from, Ground Transportation to/from airport, staff, food, beach, activities were fantastic. We emailed Lucas Garcia, Sales Manager, but our emails were only responded to once. We had a spanish speaking friend speak to him too but our rooms were musty and the kids room had mold - we arrived at 8pm - and we switched the rooms the following day. We manged with the new rooms, but realized we had to make do - we were not that happy. All the rooms need a lot of renovations. The Air Condition was working but very noisy. The storage units for clothing - the drawers were stuck. There was no iron. The Hotel needs a lot of maintenance. We never went in the pool - although it was cleaned daily - it did not look at all clean. This hotel needs a lot of TLC. The sewer in the main building needs to be fixed. We had to take the stairs to the 3rd floor and the sewer stench made us want to throw up. The reception area in the main building is too hot - there was air conditioning at one point in time, but there was none when we were there - think the air conditioning was never fixed for quite awhile. We did notice that the 1st floor in the main building being fixed - so maybe it will be transformed in the future - we will not come back to this hotel. When we asked for a room in the South Building we were told that the section was closed. The entire South Section, Pool, 24x7 Bar, 2 a la carte restaurants were closed. We only had 2 a la carte dinners because the hotel just down the south side. Fortunately the crowd had just left when we arrive on August 30 - the staff were struggling to keep up with all the requests. It was quiet August 31 onwards, we were so glad for the peace. The Coffee Bar was just great - we just loved it. The Piano Bar is on the 2nd Floor but you have to look for it - there are curtains that hide it from everyone. One day they were supposed to have a Piano Concert and the person was MIA. Another day we were ready to take our trip on the Catamaran and the place was shutdown all day. If the hotel gets the attention it needs it will have lots of business - the staff are amazing, but they have to deal with frustrated customers due to the state of the hotel - we felt really sorry for the Reception Staff.

    “Great Beach and Massage ”
Pros: The hotel was clean and friendly. The staff where excellent. There was always room around the pool. The entertainment was very good. The selections of drink was very good. The food was OK. The beach was clean and very good. The Massage (Extra) was excellent, Emilia the therapist had strong hands which is what I like. Cons: You have to remember this is Cuba so its not Europe. The air-con worked in the room no problem but not so good in my friends room or in the reception. The food was OK but remember this is Cuba. One of the lifts didn't work. The hotel was down as a four star but I think it would struggle to get up to that standard in Europe but hey, this is Cuba. I would consider going back but there are many hotels in the area.

    “Great Beach ”
We stayed at the Brisas del Caribe two different times over the last four years and the first time it was actually called Oasis Brisas del Caribe. Since then they dropped the oasis as it has become run down from the first. The resort is quite large and we were in the far section from the main lobby the first time so the walk to the beach was the longest (south side ) but we did not mind as there was a pool on that side, bar area and lots of greenery for your walk through. The room was quite large and roomy but backed on to vegetation. Our second room in the main hotel was smaller and showed its age. Again, we did not mind because we were confortable enough and glad to be in main house this time. People are very friendly and workers work hard. In the main lobby area, you will find a bar, bank, lobby, store and lots of seating room looking out to a terrace which is inviting for seeing the ocean. The food was good and have to say it was the best lobster dinner(payment extra) we have every had then and since. The one downfall is the main buffet. It is located on the lower level and unfortunately, after a while you can smell fried food up to the main lobby and it is a bit overwhelming sometimes. They must do something about ventilation so that this does not happen. The main pool is located on the lower level and was never overoccupied to be able to find a seat, the short walk from there to the beach was no problem. Sometimes at the outer bar/food area, there was a sewage smell which of course was a turn off, especially when this turns into one of the a la cartes at night. Along the way to the beach, there are six or seven vendors with a lot of variety which is nice for someone who wants to buy things but not venture into Varadero. We had no problems with umbrellas and the beach is spectacular. White sand and blue ocean. We enjoyed our stay but would probably not return especially after the second time. If you are looking for a cheap resort with reasonably good food than try it. If you are looking for something special than this is not the one for you. In the height of the season, march we paid about $1000 Canadian and in September, we paid $545.00. It is not worth more than 6-700 dollars total.

“Great Vacation, few things bad ”
My boyfriend and I went to Varadero and stayed at the Brisas del Caribe hotel. All in all, we had an awesome time. The best part of this hotel was the amazing staff! Every single person there greeted us with smiles, and gave us %110 when they helped us or served us. The beach is AMAZING! It's so beautiful, and it's only about a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the beach! We also rented the scooters they have on site of the hotel and drove it into town! This was very fun and cheap to do so! The bad parts were the ants that were in our room, and the food. We had to be careful after a few days of what we ate. By the last few nights we were just eating pasta, because most other foods were making us feel sick. Just be careful with what you eat and drink in general down there! Other than that it was a great vacation! I wouldn't recommend bringing kids there, as there is not much stuff to do other than swim in the pools for kids.

“Nice vacation but average hotel ”
This hotel needs to be updated. The pools are old and not very appealing. The room was average and at times, the public bathroom was not clean, they should pay more attention to that. The food was okay. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is very nice as many have already mentioned. Overall, we had a great time.

    “Varadero. ”
The hotel advertised 4 restaurants, but only the buffet was operating. It was difficult to find a table and even more difficult to get 2nd round of drinks and clean utensils. The staff seemed to be overwhelmed by the crowd; however, they were nice. The rooms were good. The bar at the pool was a joke. Not worth it, and I am a cuban and not very demanding. I expected to have a better experience. Do not recommend.

    “2nd Trip ”
This year was our 2nd trip to Brisas... I must say they have improved immensely since last year! The hotel itself has been updated in some areas, the food and choices were much better than last year (which made my stomach happy).. The staff is still as excellent as ever. We had a few minor issues with our room etc.. and they were always there to help and do what needed to be done. I love the staff... You get to know them.. and they get to know you. It just makes for a more enjoyable experience! I can't wait to visit again next year :)

“Past stay and going back ”
We have visited lots of hotel in Varadero, we went to Brisas 4 times and this is one of the best resort for price wise. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and always smiling. They do remember you even without always money in your hands. We are going back end of November. Best beache ever, always clean and George always their to help you with chairs.First if you are looking for a 5 stars, forget it, more of a 3.5, but the food is very good, you can always find something to eat, we never starved, Very clean, rooms and bathrooms can be upgraded. Mabel and Chicho at the bar are lots of fun. Marguarite at coffee station, always very welcoming and such a beautiful young lady, always smiling and willing to help. Entertainment staff are very nice and funny and they come and get you to play their games, which make's it lots of fun. Discotheque at night could be more lively if people did not went to bed right after the 10 o'clock show. Linen is changed every day, housekeeping is always very friendly as well. I would asked Gisell to personally write to me, as I wrote to the hotel and never got a response back, it's a shame!! Can't wait to go back to enjoy the sun and see our friends.

    “honest review ”
the place were amazing. we love the beach so we were there most of the time. the pool area were kinda crowded during weekends but as soon as the locals checked out, it became better during the week days. the staff were all friendly especially Alejandro who is in-charge of the mojito. He always smile and Yeva from the reception area is also very helpful. Wilfred who's in-charge of the catamaran was very friendly and accomodating when we want to do snorkling. The staff (Lilly) who cleans and fixed our room were always smiling and friendly. the waiters/waitress in the buffet area is also friendly and always make sure that all our needs are attended. we never even have to look for a table as they always make sure we are accomodated right away. the only problem/ issue that we encounter is that we lost a couple of designer shirts and shorts during our stay. I could have given 5* to staff/ crew if not for that stolen items. Maybe the management has to implement stricter policy/ rules on this and give more emphasis about security of guest's belongings. I think this is an on-going issue as some of the previous guest have the same issue too about some of their stuff got stolen and gave the same reviews and we don't know if the management is doing something about it. Overall it will not hinder us from going back to the same place and next time we will be more careful and we will make sure all our belongings are secure.

    “Loved Brisas Del Caribe ”
Had a mix upon arrival, was to be in South section, ended up in North, arrived at 2 in the morning but got ourselves arranged and ended up liking our North location better. We literally went down back stairs and the beach, pool and buffet was moments from out\r room but situated at the back. The beach was incredible! The people were very nice, the drinks very generous and the food was good, it was not a Canadian restaurant but I found enough to eat and felt full after every meal. The beach, the people and the weather was incredible. We went back at end if January and stayed for 8 days. We did the Jeep tour and loved it. The Catamaran trip was cool but the snorkeling was okay and to be honest, the beach visit, was alright. Considering how great the beach is in Varadero Resort area, I do not see the point in going to the Island when your beach area at Brisas is beautiful. Good value for the price, I would like to try another place next time but you never know. I love CUBA

“Can't Wait To Go Back ”
Oh please to anyone who says this hotel is not meant for families! I've been there 4 times with my young children and they love it. So you young party animals that leave reviews bragging about your all night parties, shut up! Yes, the South Side can be a little loud because of the 24 hour bar BUT I find most people respectful. So to any families with children wanting to visit this resort please do.

“If your looking for a young fun time, this is your hotel!!”
Iv been travelling to Cuba for the past 6 years. Usually in January. Awesome time to go, right after New Years. I'm 33 yrs old and Usually travel with friends. Of all the hotels we've stayed at during the years in varadero this one always takes the win. Awesome location (only a 10-15m ride to downtown where the clubs are) the resort itself is great. We really appreciate the "south side" area. The rooms are bigger, and the 24/hr bar/snacks place is right there along with its own pool area. (A great place to avoid children if your like us) The main building is also nice. Though the resort usually attracts a slightly younger crowd (21-35) you'll still find some families in the mix. But beware. There will be NO QUIET TIME at 11:30pm. This is a younger resort like I said, so if you want absolute quiet at 11pm don't stay here. Some of us stay up past that time and our nights just starting. The other 24/hr bar is also located in the main lobby. Keep that in mind. All in all I'd have to say its a tough call between this resort and Arenas Blancas (spelt wrong I know) that's maybe a better party resort, but this resort looks a bit better and the beaches were bIt nicer. But if you want an absolute party then stay downtown at Arenas. That's a great place that's located minutes by foot to allot of clubs.

“Friendly and affordable ..outstanding beach!! ”
It is funny how 2 people can stay at the same resort and have polar opposite opinions and perspectives. Personally, for myself I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Brisas. Yes, the hotel is a little tired and needs repairs, but they are working on this. This is not like Canada where you can go down to the local Home Depot and pick up supplies, and hire a company to come in and do the work. They have the ambition but lack the tools, so we should be thankful that we do not run into these problems in our country. And in my opinion, some of the people complaining should stay in their 5 star homes, if this is what they are looking for, or pay the top dollar that Mexico and other Caribbean locations are demanding. For the price we paid for 2 weeks, the services, the food and the accommodations were fine.Yes, not outstanding, but nothing to complain about! Our room, in the North Section was very clean, accessible to all of the amenities and when we did find a small problem they corrected it immediately. If you go to the front reception with a smile on your face, you will get more honey. Think about it, if someone approached you with attitude, what would you do? I did hear some tourists being very rude and obnoxious and if I had been assigning rooms then I perhaps would have politely told them the situation will be handled momentarily then proceed to help the next smiling tourist, and perhaps forget about the rude one. Just saying. I did look in on a few rooms in the North Section on the 3rd and 4th floor and they all looked fine. Some furniture looked a little worn, but again, they are replacing most furniture. As well we noticed all the rooms in the North Section, that we peeked in on, had flat screen TV?s. Not that you should spend much time in your room with the wonderful weather and beach at your door. As for odors, or musty smells, this happens in the tropics, and when I see pictures of ?black mold? at the outside doors, I am more inclined to think it is humid weather, salt and other elements that cause this. Not saying it may not be mold, but in most cases just the elements. I have stayed in 5 star resorts in Mexico and smelled this musty odor, and have walked into many restaurants in the tropics with the same smell. It is what it is. Take some Febreeze, or your favourite candle. Easy to pack. I usually bring a small sensi candle, and my room smells lovely. Also, it is true in Cuba most pillows are very flat, so I go to Giant Tiger and pick up some cheap $5.00 pillows and put them in ?Travel Bags? that I pick up at Canadian Tire, or CAA, as these take the air out, and I put the pillow in top of my suitcase. When we leave it is a nice gift for the maid. Or bring it back home for your next trip. Speaking of these travel bags, I take along 3 or 4 and I put all my clothes in them, so a nice neat suitcase, and a good place to put your dirty clothes for the trip home. The Family side of the hotel, the South side I cannot comment on so this I will leave that review to people who stayed there. For me, being older, and with only 2 of us traveling together, we felt closer to the action in the main building or North Section. It is a few steps to the pool, dining room and beach. As for food, I can?t believe that people complain. There were many food options, and I found it to be fresh and tasty. Every morning we had a wonderful cheese omelet, with a croissant and fresh fruit, followed by a delicious cappuccino. For lunch a wide selection of cold cuts, fresh bread, and by the way, they keep a white cloth over the bread for cutting, but many tourists choose not to use it. (in reference to an earlier post saying there is nothing to hold the bread while cutting it). I think the breads, the pastries are outstanding and wish I could find as good here. Tastes like a European bakery! The salads, the fruit, the soups, chicken, pork and fish dishes were plentiful and darn good. Everything was cleaned and refilled on the buffet tables diligently, so I am not sure why anyone would say it was not clean. Faithfully, they have a person standing there ready to clean the buffet counters and refill. The pool area was always clean, and I watched a young man clean the pool every morning and in the evening another person was seen wiping the chairs down, and putting them back neatly for the next day. The beach is outstanding, and the beach bar, always had cold drinks, hamburgers and hot dogs, for the people who just wanted to hang out at the beach all day. There was music there, beach volleyball and other sport events for the people inclined to do so. Myself, I just loved walking along the beach and playing in the surf. A truly lovely beach, with plenty of lounge chairs and palapas to sit under. The outdoor gift shops, or market, whatever you want to call it, had plenty of souvenirs as well as t-shirts, hats, belts jewelry and crafts. It is located just outside the hotel on the way to the beach, so lots of opportunities to visit. I do not have grand kids but I saw a delightful building and children?s area. The children who were there on this trip were very well behaved and it seemed like they used this area quite a bit. There were many outside excursions offered, as well you could hop on the bus, and for $5.00 you could use your pass from 9 am until 9pm, I believe. We liked this option, where we could go into downtown Varadero to flea markets, and other wonderful restaurants. We took advantage of this transportation to visit friends who were staying at other resorts or perhaps a person could use this means of getting around to check out other hotels. We did go into Havana on an excursion and I highly recommend this to anyone. A wonderful day! I love Havana!!! I will not hesitate to go back to this resort. In fact we are hoping to book next January but instead of 2 weeks we are looking into a longer stay. We hope it is offered. The management at this hotel has to be commended. They mark their offices clearly and you are always welcome to go and talk to them. No matter what the problem is, they are there to help you. Maybe, if you are having a good time, you could stop in and let them know, as good comments are always welcome, instead of just hearing from the complainers. As mentioned earlier I had a small complaint, and Carlo?s addressed the problem immediately and he went over and beyond my expectations of a reasonable fix. He was such a gentleman and he took the time to sit with me, and asked me what I thought of the resort and what I would like to see changed in the future, or what I thought would benefit tourists. Seriously, he was just so engaged in my opinions. He truly listened and made me feel like I mattered and he was also interested in what would make the resort better for all tourists. Like I said, they are working the best they can to keep things up to date. New mattresses in most rooms, flat screen TV?S, bar fridges in most rooms. They want our business and are doing everything to bring us back. So go to this wonderful resort, enjoy the best stretch of white beach, amazing staff, good food!! I know we can?t wait to return to meet our new friends, from Canada, and other European countries?and of course our new Cuban friends?

“Nice setting and people but needs some upkeep ”
My wife and I just spent a nice week at Brisas del Caribe as part of a longer stay in Cuba. The beach was excellent, and the water warm and clear. Staff at the hotel were friendly and generally quite helpful. Food was standard Cuban fare - not bad but not great. The property is quite large and offers a number of facilities not normally found in a resort (which are great for families). Overall, the setting was great. The buildings, however, are in need of some general upkeep and repair. Lots of small things all around the property that need attention and take away from the overall appearance. Some nice touches such as new TVs and reasonably good beds, but a definite suggestion to the resort that more attention to upkeep definitely needs to be a priority. Time to clean up the place! Listed as a 4 star resort but more like 3 / 3+.

    “wedding trip ”
Fantastic trip. Approx. 25 people down for my wedding. They treated us like royalty. Definitely not the high end, 5 star resort that some are looking for, but more than adequate and the staff was phenomenal. Trip was ages ago (May 2007) but just was on Trip advisor and decided to finally do this.

“A great Cuban vacation spot for me . ”
Im 45 yrs old now and this was my first plane trip and im glad I listen to a couple friends that had been to this resort in the past. The staff were very nice upon arrival. The resort was clean . beach was awesome. Cigars and Bevy's were always in my hand .. The staff were very helpful and friendly.... the Animation and Entertainment staff are a real hiden gem for sure . the food was ok at best.. :/ . look im not a picky person and im happy guy and make the best of any situation . i wouldn't recomend this resort for a family with small children . I'm sure there are better resorts for familys ..but for us 4 guys it was a perfect week getaway from -16 snowy weather ha ha .. We are coming back this November .

“Wouldn't go anywhere else! Brisas is our family now! ”
This is a double review for January/14 and April/14. Our third and fourth time at Brisas. In January we held our wedding here with 18 family & friends. Upon arrival our rooms were mixed up and not together, after a day everything was sorted out and all were happy. A big thank you goes out to Giselle, Annabel and George in PR at the resort. These people will go out of there way and do their best to satisfy you while you stay here. If there is any kind of problem they will look after it. (booking, room, section, meals ect.). Our wedding was very beautiful and Giselle did a great job organizing the ceremony, the wedding cars, cake, champagne, flowers, the band, the dinner (thank you Louis) and most importantly the photographer...THANK YOU GISELLE. We could not imagine being married anywhere else. What a great week, the best beach on the strip, great Cuban food and drinks and most importantly of all probably the best staff at any resort in Varadero! Now in April/14, this was our honeymoon, once again upon arrival, room and section confusion. After spending the first couple nights in undesirable rooms, Giselle went out of her way to fix the situation once again. If there is a problem they will look after you the best they can. One night we counted six (6) different meats at the buffet, the rice and beans are always awesome and there is always something cooking fresh on the grills. There is plenty of fruit and great, fresh baked bread, buns and goodies. The afternoon and evening entertainment is always good. Now the management and staff treat us like part of the Brisas family and we feel the love every time we return. Hugs, kisses high fives and big smiles with kind hearts is what you will find here. We were engaged here on the beach, married here in the garden gazebo and had our honeymoon here and would do it all again right here! We would like to thank the following Brisas staff for making our life complete: Giselle, Carlos, George, Annabel, Micheal, Miekal, Alfredo, Barbare, Amelia, Antonio, Louis, Chavez, Arriana, Usimee, Milady, Margarite, Carlos, Jenae, Ritchie, Denis, Vicente, Bebe, Alejandra, Junior, Omar and Douglas, you are all part of our family now. Can't wait to light a Cohiba and sit on the beach at Brisas del Caribe!

Me and my gf were transferred here from Aguas Azules as that resort was terrible. i have nothing but good things to say about this place. from check in to check out the staff treats you like family always a smile on there faces, greeting you in the hallways, even the entertainment is everywhere! by the coffee bar (lobby) the beach, beside the pool. there were alot of cubans at this resort but did not outnumber the guests. i love cubans they are always in such a great mood and love to dance. the pool area was perfect. right in the middle of the hotel with a pool bar beside it which is where all the entertainment was. the walk to the beach you can buy all gifts on your way or have lunch or dinner at the outdoor buffet . the food was different everyday which is really nice compared to alot of other resorts in Varadero . staff was excellent also . I always tip 5 cuc to each bar or coffee bar once while i am in cuba and they always remember me. so don't forget to tip. it really does go along way. all in all had a fantastic vacation, feel free to ask any questions you may have and i will be glad to answer them. :) thanks and happy travels:)

    “Very relaxing”
When first arriving at the resort, I was not expecting much. During my stay, I became impressed with what the hotel had to offer and the staff treated their customers very well. I felt very welcome! Thank you to everyone who made my second trip to Cuba very memorable and exactly what I needed. I will definitely be returning! And the beach is STUNNING!!

    “Amazing Staff! ”
My experience at this hotel was lovely due to the amazing staff at the resort. Everyone was friendly and eager to assist in all our needs. A special thanks to the bar tender Augstino who made our trip memorable. He was by far one of the most helpful and talented workers at this hotel.

    “Very nice vacation ”
Staff more then helpful and treat you well and are very grateful when you tip, not like some places we have been where if you don't tip big you are ignored. The food was very good for Cuban food ,in the buffet dining room you also have a choice of something being cooked right there ala cart. We went to the Italian restruant (reservations a must) it was ok the food tasted fine but I have had better Italian and the airconditioner was not working that night. There is a 24hr restruant for drinks and food like burgers fries pizza,a lunch outdoor BBQ with burgers and hotdogs(be aware the hotdogs taste different than we have here in Canada, not bad just different. We had a garden room and it had a private little patio,They make great expresso in the mainfloor bar. Poolside is a bar entertainment (not screaming loud music) pool was a little cool when we where there but they have a hot pool that holds about 20 people. The ocean is a VERY short walk from the hotel. While there are vendors who walk along the beach edge most of them do not approach you, we only had a couple of gals asking if we wanted massages,or go horseback riding. They were not persistant just said no thankyou and they were gone. The nicest part is we have been here 3 times and after being there seeing the same staff over 5 years is nice a couple of them even remembered what room we stayed in the last time we were there! All in all I would recommend this hotel to families and older couples, I don't think the college age crowd would have much fun here it's not that type of atmosphere.

“Excellent value for bucks , comfortable and friendly staff ”
great deal for 4 star resort , Booked with south family room and been given to north building , switched to south and satisfied, for families with young kid , Get South family room!!! Buffet is great , alot of stuff although we get bored after eating 8 straight days . highly recommend Italy A LA Carte , great service and food , booked twice and really happy with it ! order Alaska desert ( not only taste good , also watch their show :) , not like seafood restaurant, food is so so and service just so so . Beach is beautiful ! and love the night show ( must join even start late at 10PM) , pool is well maintained ( I saw the guy working start 6am-10am every morning to cleaning ) All the bar is friendly with all kinds of drinks . Onsite Sunwing rep is really helpful and friendly . Again , not perfect resort , but excellent value for $ . Tip: Air conditioner is cold and loud , turn on AC to high when you leave room , turn it off before you sleep and you will have a quite and comfort night

    “Excellent value, great staff! ”
We were relocated to this hotel after a horrific first night at the Hotel Agua Azules, by our Sun-Wing Rep. The room was clean and quiet, South block. The pool was clean and cared for and the grounds were landscaped every day! The staff were amazing and very accommodating. Both "A La Carte"s were good and the daily buffet for breakfast and dinner was good - restaurants were clean and air conditioned. Lunchtime bar bq was a blast, great entertainment everyday, with lots of great grill options and salads, the Mojitos were excellent! It was great to see the staff having so much fun; singing and dancing whilst serving - the atmosphere was contagious! For a Cuban 4 Star this was a great hotel and I would recommend this for a budget conscious traveller looking for a comfortable/clean hotel.

“Been to this resort 4 times and love it! ”
We returned from our fourth stay at Brisas in March of this year. We went with our son, his wife and their nine year son. This was their first time to Cuba, and they absolutely loved it. I cannot find fault with this resort at all. Each time we go, we are greeted fondly by the staff, which is fantastic. We have always stayed on the south side and have not found any issues with our room. We don?t spend a lot of time in our rooms anyways, so as long as it is clean and bug free works for us! We go to Brisas because we love the service we get from all the staff, and of course the beach is fabulous! We have never gone hungry at this resort. There is always something for everyone to enjoy. Try the ice cream; it is crazy good!! We are heading back for our fifth visit in March 2015. It will be a great pleasure to see all our Cuban friends again! So looking forward to it!

    “"hoping to get back" ”
i love this hotel came with my husband in february for a week had a great time. staff was very friendly. returned in june with my daughter for two weeks.her boyfriend stay for one week. we all enjoyed ourselves. this is my 10th visit to cuba,by far this hotel has been one of the better ones that I have been too. beach is amazing. what you do need to do is replace your lounge chairs,on the beach, very uncomfortable. food was ok, we all liked it.but what I liked most was that I was able to bring my Cuban friend mercy,to this hotel to spend the day with me. on a day pass. she worked there in the beginning of the year and was very happy to see everyone again. now im trying to get back there in November if my boss allows me. thanks for the great memories.

“Can't Wait To Go Back ”
Getting ready to head back for two weeks in November and I can't wait!! The food is not always great but I've ALWAYS found something yummy to eat! The rooms are extremely clean as is the entire hotel. Staff is so great! I cannot wait to see them again and catch up. I'm looking forward to seeing my favorite waiter Miguel!! Beach is wonderful but we stick to the pool as that is where my boys play with other children. Coffee bar has a good selection and great cappuccinos! If you are a first timer to Cuba please make sure you bring plenty of medicines as you will not find Tylenol or Pepto Bismol there. Also, I bring LOTS of granola bars, crackers and other stuff for my boys to munch on in the hotel room.

“On my way back in just a week :0)) ”
As i finishing packing for my 2nd trip to Brisas Del Caribe this year, my 2 friends and i will be arriving on the 20th of Sept. Cant wait to see everyone there again. This resort makes you feel like one of the family... In January I will be traveling with 10-15 people and 9 of us spent time here in January as well. Looking forward to my week with our new family friends...

I have just booked my 8th trip (in 10 years) to Brisas Del Caribe for end of October. Excited to be going back and can't wait to get there. Always have a great time in Cuba. Great beach, nice resort and friendly staff !

    “Feels like home ”
First off, I would like to say that this was my 7th time at Brisas and I will be back in February as all the staff have become my family and friends away from home. So let's start with the reception staff. Very accommodating. Always saying hello and very willing to help you with anything you needed! The rooms. Clean and comfortable. I really miss sitting on my terrace watching the sun come up. Maids always made towel art and always greeted you with a smile as you walk down the halls. Coffee bar in the lobby. When you wake up a bit groggy from the previous night and have these great people greeting you it makes the day start perfectly. Thank you to everyone. The buffet. Always a great selection of food. The eggs are amazing, and the chef is always smiling and remembers how you like your eggs. Wait staff. Go above and beyond what I expect from a wait staff. Thank you so much for my table looking out at the pool. The beach. This is the reason I come to this hotel. Don't be upset if you see a cigarette butt in the sand. It is us tourists that put them there so please done blame the hotel. They do pick up what they can. And Jorge is always cleaning and picking up after us. I dunno why we can't put garbage where it belongs. I don't throw garbage on my floor or in the lawn at home so why would I do it when I am a guest in this beautiful country and great beach. Please. Put garbage in its place. Thanks Machin! All the bartenders at all bars are amazing. Taino bar has great fast food and the bartenders are always ensuring your drink is full and cold! William. Kathy. Marie. Antonio. So many to name. Thank you everyone. Public relations. What can I say. Even though Annabelle and Jorge weren't at site this time chigy, mikael and Giselle made sure I had everything I needed. Very nice talking to them and learning about what it is to be Cuban. Thank you to everyone. We will see you all in February. Paolo P

“excellent resort. We will return again :) ”
The hotel and staff were amazing. When we arrived it was about 2am and we were put in a room far away and outdated. we asked to move and were accommodated. quickly the next morning to a room off the main lobby in a quite area. We were very happy with the switch. The staff were great. Always friendly and outgoing. they always treated us with a smile and were interested in getting to know us and making us welcome. The most memorable part of the vacation was the help from George from public relations ( not sure of the correct spelling of his name this is what he said to call him). I asked my fiancé to marry me in well at the resort. George helped with the planning of dinner and also got us a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate. he went above and beyond the entire week to make us feel welcome and comfortable. including getting a late check out from the hotel because our flight didn't leave till 10pm that night. The food was good, never had problem finding something to eat. fresh carved meat (fish, chicken, beef, and pork were the usual choices. always fresh choices. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. we do plan on returning.

    “Another great holiday ”
The staff at this resort are wonderful....we have stayed here at least 6 times. The food is "okay" ,the room was clean and comfortable , and the beach is to die for. Hello to everyone at Brisas...our Cuban friends any family :-)

    Average Amed

Located in the world-famous beach resort of Varadero, the Brisas del Caribe Hotel is 30 kilometers from Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport. The establishment combines modernity and excellent services with the benefits of its proximity to the beach. In addition to sun and beach options, the hotel is close to natural treasures such as caves and escarpments, pristine keys and places of cultural, historic and environmental interest, due to its proximity to the cities of Cárdenas and Matanzas

    Great first trip
We loved the people, the sunshine, and the beautiful white beach. Only had a few windy and cloudy days. The food was ok considering. great price for what we got and will be going again more than likely to the same hotel.

    Relaxing and Playful
This was our first trip to Cuba and had plenty of information to prepare us for what to (or not to) expect. Overall the resort offered a lot to do (bikes, mopeds, gym, tennis, diving lessons, etc.) which in honesty, we did not take full advantage because the beach was just so inviting. Entertainment (dancers/shows) was great for a single resort.
