“Almost perfect ”
Travelled with my wife and 3 kids for third time, but we were not invited to return guest dinner. Food is the best in Cuba, but can't get a reservation at the Japanese restaurant for 2nd time this year. Beach has convenient snorkelling 30 feet from shore, which was covered with seaweed and not raked for days. Staff are helpful and friendly, except for watersport staff at beach. Resort is beautifully designed and maintained, but bugs feasted on the guests at night. Our time there was far too short, literally. Sunquest tour operator met us at the pool to tell us our bus was here. Despite paper, front desk staff and binder reporting departure was 11:30, we were shuttled to airport in our bathing suits at 11. Definitely not Cuban time. Be packed and ready to go at the drop of a hat. Bring children clothes as gifts for staff, lanacaine, and tartar sauce for battered fish and chips. Gardeners are awesome. Crispy bacon at breakfast and lobster for dinner, meals can't be beat
“Cuban Gem ”
Oct 25-Nov 9, 2014 This was my first time to Cuba and I quickly became smitten with the rich culture and the friendly, welcoming staff at this resort. The resort itself is lovely, beautifully maintained grounds and beach, the rooms clean, they need a bit of attention here and there but I wasn't there to hang out in the room and it wasn't anything I couldn't live with. I recommend the pink (4000) or yellow (5000) building and 2nd or 3rd floor for best views and close to all the amenities. The food was very good, simple, clean (not dripping in heavy sauces), yet complex with sweet, salty and acidic flavours. Plenty of seafood everyday. As I'm a sweets lover the croissants in the morning and desserts at the rest of the meals were mouth watering (so light and delicious) and always fruit and cheese to end your meal with. The a la carte Italian was good, pasta cooked al dente and lots of parmesan cheese to go around. The staff at this resort are creme de la creme (wish I knew how to say that in Spanish). I'm a seasoned traveller with many miles under my belt and many experiences but I truly felt like I was part of large Cuban family for the two weeks I stayed at Playa Coco. This holiday will remain forever in my heart because of staff that worked so hard for their guests from the housekeepers, always a smile on their face and a fancy creation using the towels, our hats and toiletries to personalize them, the groundskeepers who kept the grass and shrubs looking beautiful, the entertainment staff Juan Carlos, Michael, Eli, Jennifer, the bar staff, Alex, Alain, Felice, Jorje, Micrae, the food and beverage staff, Diannalise, Leopold, Chef Jorje, Felice, Gracey,Yunior, our afternoon capuccino barista, the beverage and food staff at the beach, the young man at the gift shop whose English was amazing and conversations so fun and of course management Nailet and Dario. There was also no lack of entertainment at this resort. The evening show was always something to look forward to and the piano bar hosted many local musicians who sang and played a wide range of music and of course the disco, if you love to dance this is the place to be. Visit Cuba with an open heart and mind and beautiful things will happen. Happy travels to all who stay at Playa Coco
“Bottled and Canned BEER!”
So you can get bottled and canned cristal and bucanero. Excellent. Was perfect. Be sure tip siedel when u pick up more than two for the beech. Shift change is around 5pm. So keep that in mind. Yes bottled and canned beer available. I have the morning guy $5 Cuban and asked for 4 beers unopened. And wasn't a problem. Pay them instead of the gift shop. Rooms. We'll be happy they have bottled and canned beer. Our room was acceptable. Although I felt like I was sleeping downhill. Sure I could have flipped my self around. But ah who cares. Sometimes no hot water during the day 9am-4pm but then again you should be at the beech. Pink building we were in. Shows at night were great don't miss the micheal Jackson one. Was supurb. Havana club not regularly served at beech or anywhere else but lobby bar if you asked for it. The bank there was $0.80 Cuban to a canadian dollar. And the gift shop really didn't want to use your credit card. Always a problem trying to use it there. All staff that serves you is awesome. O and food was fam tasty I thought. Bring hot sauce. Was all I thought I should have. Everything else is awesome. Beech BBQ was the best as well as the pizza at the beech. I say beech cus that's what they say for beach. Email me for any other info
“Ask for more? THAT IS MORE!! ”
The only word that comes to my mind is INCREDIBLE. If your criteria for a good trip is fun, amazing beaches, good food but at first great staff, YOU WILL BE SERVED. We met so many good people, had so much but so much fun...I cannot remember when I laughed that much. We had a blast with the entertainment crew, Maya, Juan Carlos, Maikel and Eli, they are just the best. Everyone there is friendly, wants to know about you... For the room, it is standard, I wasn't asking for a 5stars anyway...we had a wonderful surprise, we were right by the beach, view on the ocean, didn't ask for that much! We were getting out of the room and 90 seconds later, we were on the beach! Cleaning ladies are fantastic, food staff are lovely, always wants you to get the best...Waiters are AWESOME...Shows are wonderful and all the dancers are lovely too.... I have nothing, but NOTHING to say against that place. It was terrific. I surely recommand, surely will go back, don't feel like going anywhere else anymore...Best price vs quality I've ever had for sure... We miss you already Playa Coco!!!!
