“This is a 5 star ROYAL SERVICE”
Just got back today from the Paradisus Rio de Oro resort and Spa Royal Service Hotel Fantastic 5 Star Service you couldn't ask for anything else. The check in was Pretty quick we were greeted with a cocktail in the reception area while waiting to be shown to our rooms. This Hotel has lovely grounds kept to top standard with the gardeners cleaning up every day. The Butlers well what can I say the 2 we had Reynaldo & Norge we had fantastic service from both of them we only needed to ask them both and they sorted it straight away for sorting your bottles of Chamapagne brought to your rooms and having the Butler running your bath for you and meals in the restaurants it was great. The Girls doing the bar in the day and night were great aswell both YALIENNY, MAYLIN there is another lady but sorry cant think of her name but she worked in the breakfast area before we left they all give fantastic Service they are bubbly People you didn't need to ask for a drink they just knew what you wanted. The Staff in the Los Helechos Restaurant were great for breakfast, lunch,Dinner.in the royal service area. The Japanese Restaurant was really good fun and great Japanese Food. The Management Staff come round and ask if we have any complaints but there was nothing to complain about but you will always get someone who will. The Rooms are really lovely we had the junior master suite, having a out door shower is different lovely with settee and 2 chairs and we had 2 big beds, the fridge was filled every day with Beer and soft drinks by George . “First time at a 5 star resort... ”
Opted not to get the Royal Service and glad we did. The room was always clean, the bar fridge always reloaded(except one day. Ordered room service instead). The room was looking a bit tired, but like I said, it was always clean with the towel art as well. The staff was friendly and eager to help, from the wait staff to the people that cleaned the rooms. Although the room we had was almost the furthest from the room it was the only excercise we had all week, so no complaint there. The food wasn't exceptional, but hey, we were in Cuba, where they are always trying to keep everybody happy and have something that everybody will like. We had no trouble keeping our bellys full that is for sure. The A-la-Carte restaraunts were great across the board. The Japanese restaraunt show table was awesome. Try this resort, you won't be disappointed.

      “Paradise! ”
This was our first visit to Cuba and based on our stay here at the Paradisus Rio de Oro Resort & Spa hotel we will definitely be returning to Cuba. The hotel is beautifully laid out and extremely clean and tidy. All the staff (no matter what their role is) are extremely hard working and professional and do their utmost to ensure that the guests needs are catered for. We stayed in a junior suite which was adequate for our needs. The chambermaid responsible for cleaning our room did a grand job and was polite and friendly whenever we saw her. The hotel beach is great and the crystal clear ocean is very warm and inviting. We used the spa a couple of times and can definitely recommend the relaxing body massage! I felt very pampered at this hotel and enjoyed every moment of our stay. When we return to Cuba we will definitely stay here again.

“We just keep going back! ”
We just returned from our third trip to this lovely hotel. This time we chose 28th October to 11th November so that I could celebrate my 60th birthday in our favourite place. The excellent management and staff at the hotel did not disappoint and provided us with a beautiful refurbished room close to the pool and beach. The food at the hotel was as usual of excellent quality, especially the buffet and the Cuban a la carte restaurant where the staff made my birthday evening especially memorable. Thanks to Pablo for organising our restaurant bookings and Yunaiki for organising our room in Block 34. All the staff, too many to mention, and the excellent gardeners, were charming and couldn't do enough for us. It was great to see the 'new' General Manager, Jean Marc, and the omni present Carlos taking such an active role in the smooth running of the hotel. All in all, this hotel provides something for everyone. Whether you want to lounge quietly by the pool or beach all day or enjoy the activities organised by the animation team then there will be an appropriate spot for you. I thoroughly enjoyed the Yoga classes held every other day and taught by the lovely Lisbeth. The hotel grounds are beautiful, the beach is second to none, and the service is excellent. Negatives? - can't think of one. Once again, many thanks to all the staff who make this hotel such a pleasant stay. This really is a little piece of Paradise and we will hopefully be returning in March to see the progress on the pier! Warmest regards to all, Claire Forbes and John Martin

      “Truly 5-star Royal Service ”
The Paradisus Rio de Oro Royal Service was an exceptional experience. One always hears that the food in Cuba is not good but that is certainly not true in the Royal Service here! Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Los Helechos were very good, with both well-cooked and fresh offerings. The interior is nicely decorated and air conditioned, while the patio has lots of shade and a gorgeous view over the sea. The bar/pool menu was also very nice. The room with sitting area was large, nicely appointed and comfortable. And the double-counter bathroom with spa tub and separate toilet is lovely...but not as lovely as the outdoor shower in the walled patio! Service at all the bars (lobby, pool and beach) was also very friendly and quick. We really enjoyed the live music in the evenings in the lobby and took full advantage of the golf cart service to the main resort when we were feeling lazy. The Royal Service private beach is quite small but lots of shade, and the much longer beach in the main resort was always an option if we wished to walk down the sand. The infinity pool in the Royal Service was kept very clean and is very pretty; however, my one complaint would be that the sitting area is somewhat cramped. The jewel in the crown of the Royal Service has to be the high level of service from the two butlers assigned to help us in every way possible. They were always available without being intrusive, as well as being charming and friendly. We enjoyed coffee service in the morning and tea in the afternoon on our balcony, as well as a lovely in-room dinner beautifully set up with linens, candles and good food. Every staff member in the Royal Service was exceptional, taking great care that we enjoyed our stay. Which is to say...we did, very much!

“return visit feels like going home ”
I returned to Paradisus Rio de Oro last March 9(2014) with a friend. It was her first visit and my 5th.( I have been here with my husband on the other visits). She loved the trip as much as I did. I have just visited Trip Advisor to read the newer reviews (as I have just booked to return on Jan.11th, 2015 with my husband) and was curious to see reviews of recent visitors. I am very pleased to note that other visitors have enjoyed their visits as much as we have. I was pleasantly surprised to read the great review by the individual who compared this resort to other southern destinations. I have felt that maybe we should try other places but after reading that review, I am just as excited to return here as I was on my2nd, 3rd,....... visit. My favorite place to spend time is in the little hut overlooking the water ( used to be Spa). The view here is spectacular. On our first visits, flowers were set on the table here each morning along with a bottle of champagne. However, on our last visit,s this was not done( probably as the employees are so busy making everyone happy) soooo last March I got up at 6 am each morning, and, using disposable glasses, champagne glasses and straws, I made a flower arrangement for the table. I did this for the 7 mornings we were there. After 2 days, other visitors stopped by to chat and see the arrangement of the day. I love flowers and spend much of my summers in my own gardens so I enjoyed doing this. Picking the flowers, I believe, is not condoned, but I felt since it was done for everyone to enjoy, maybe I would not get into too much trouble. During this time of the day, the resort gardener brought me a gardenia blossom twice. I thought this was so sweet but that is just what this resort is all about. If you are there on the week of Jan. 11th, 2015 come and say hello. I will be near the "welcome hut" . Look for the signature "M" on my necklace.

“Fantastic resort in Holquin, Cuba ”
Just returned from an amazing week at the Paradisus Rio de Oro with my husband and sister. The resort is well laid out with bungalows and low rise (2flr) 16 unit buildings. The landscaping around the resort is beautiful and very well kept. The pool area is delightful with small groupings of loungers and beds tucked into little hills and nooks, giving a feeling of privacy, as well as the usual loungers all in a row around the pool. The beach, although not the usual white pristine sand that you associate with a resort, offers the best snorkelling in the area. We saw many different and colourful fish and it was a pleasure to be able to access the reef at any time without having to book an excursion. The food was excellent and a seafood lover's paradise with lobster and shrimp as well as many different species of fish available at both lunch and dinner at the buffet, however it was severely lacking in greens and it would have been nice to have more choices of cuts of beef and chicken. Overall the quality of the buffet was excellent and the desserts were wonderful. The pool snack bar made the most amazing thin-crust vegetarian pizza. The specialty restaurants deserve nothing but praise for the foods offered, the presentation, the quality and friendliness of the staff. Many thanks to Pedro for the ease of making or changing reservations which was much easier than in any other resort where I have stayed. The resort is definitely not for those looking for noisy partying ; no loud raucous music at the pool and beach .The nightly entertainment was not really up to the quality of other resorts where I have stayed, although the dancers were extremely enthusiastic The water ballet was however, amazing. We loved the lobby for its ambience. It was an ideal place to relax, enjoy the music of the various musicians, and meet with fellow travellers before dinner. The staff were friendly, helpful and always went out of their way to ensure that you were having a good time. Special thanks to George and Victor at the pool. They both made us feel extra special. Overall this was an amazing holiday and I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely be back.

This All-Inclusive hotel is located within the Bahía de Naranjo Natural Park, in the northeastern region of Holguín province. It is surrounded by four of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The establishment is 56 kilometers from the provincial capital, and its main airway is Frank País International Airport.
