    Review about NH Capri Hotel
    Poor LakesideOttawa

I spent a week at the Capri on business. While the hotel is new, there were a lot of small things that were irritating, they were: I threw away my luggage tag in the garbage on the first night and it was still there the morning I left; Although on the 10th floor, I could clearly hear conversations in the street; I arrived late one night only to find all the towels were gone and not replaced; Staff took away the blanket but forgot to replace it, I had to call the front desk to get another one; Be prepared to wait and wait for a elevator. It got so bad, I timed it and one morning it took nine minutes to get an elavator; There's no WiFi on the floors and the only Internet is in a dark area of the lobby. Be prepared to pay almost US$5 for thirty minutes of iffy Internet; The breakfast was so-so, with the scrambled egg dish almost always empty, the coffee was absolutely horrible; The hallway carpet was stained and torn; Taking a shower meant having water spill over into the bathroom and eventually out on the room floor; Last afternoon, no toiletries were left in the room. Never again!

    “Nice, comfortable stay ”
Stayed 4 nights in mid-November. Room was adequate...single pillow per twin bed, sparse furnishings and, as others indicated, only half a shower door so water sprayed onto floor. Overall, completely acceptable. Roof-top bar and pool and 17th bar a plus. Elevators were slow and full Breakfast was fine...they attempted to serve everything from every culture...from pancakes and French toast to rice and beans...all on the there was something for everyone. Considering the fact I thought the rest of Havana was a dump, this place was a welcome gem to come back to.

“Looks the goods but there must be better and there is ”
Stayed here for three nights and this hotel has only been open for a year or so after being renovated. When l walked in it looked great modern, but very busy , warning warning ! This hotel has three lifts and one of these three is used by hotel staff cleaning etc so often not used by guests. We were on the 16th floor and often it would take 15 minutes to get to the lobby and or up again. Rooms were big and comfortable, although hairdryer broke down and couldn't be used. Front desk was always busy and it was hard to check in and check out and standing room only at anyway around 5.00pm or 9.00am. The breakfast was nothing short of terrible . Cold food nothing replenished hardly any juices out and Eggs were terrible scrambled was dry and couldnt eat them. The Internet was expensive at $4.50 cuc for 3o minutes and then it only worked in reception The area isn't to bad we would walk to the hotel national beer garden to drink and relax which was two minutes away. We wouldn't stay here again if we visited Havana

    “Clean and good ”
We only stayed here one night and left the next morning because that was our plan. So I can't comment on how well the room was cleaned once we left. But when we arrived at the hotel, the room was very clean. There was A/C. The shower door is weird and water gets splashed outside onto the washroom floor, like it or not. The rooftop has very good views, a bar and swimming pool (none of which we had time to use but visited). The bar downstairs is actually pretty lovely with good drinks. The breakfast is surprisingly great! Very delicious and all assortments available. This is a newly renovated hotel. So it's a 4-5 star hotel with South American standards. I was just super happy that it was very clean and had a/c.

    “A Very Mixed Bag ”
The good: The breakfast restaurant generally does a very nice job providing variety and quality food. There was usually plenty of food but they ran out of eggs one day. Coffee service was generally very good and attentive. Get there early. The staff at the front lobby are excellent. The bell staff really works hard. They are competent and provide very good service. The front desk people seem to be confused and lack direction and the ability to provide anything but the most basic service. There is one person at the front desk who was the most competent and committed to guest satisfactionn. Lena, deserves credit for all the extras she does for guests. She seemed to always be on service and the only person who could get anything done right. I had a problem with my room and she juggled all the various elements to get me changed and did it with minimal hassle and in teh end made sure I was taken care of. She is a superstar who is Cuban hospitality at its best. If she is not the manager of that place she should be. Every other manager type we tried to get anything done with was seemingly clueless of how to fix even the most basic issue. In teh end this is a very nice hotel. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. The shower and bidet are treats that really can make a difference. Try to get a room facing the ocean and as high as possible.

    “Buffet breakfast. ”
Breakfast in the Dorado at this nicely renovated hotel is great. Fresh fruits, and lots of things to nibble and the service is really a cut above others. One waitress Yusnely is outstanding. She is professional and efficient and always smiling. If only the rest of Cuba could learn from her! Luckily she also works in the Lobby! To sum up - Excellent!!!

“Truly delightful experience - Thank you! ”
Like so many other reviewers on here, I have only positive things to say about my stay here. The beautiful views, the convenient location, the excellent service, the well-prepared food, the delicious breakfast buffet, and the rooms (with a security-code safe) were all ideal. Most importantly, though, are the outstanding people who work there. Jose, Jorge, Vladimir, all of the waiters and waitresses, the cleaning staff, the security personnel, the managers, and the reception area staff worked tirelessly to ensure that my stay was as pleasant and as comfortable as possible. There is a team spirit at the Hotel Capri that I have yet to see at any hotel anywhere. I would have stayed for another week had my work schedule allowed for it. Now that I am back in the states where the temperature is 28 degrees (-2 Celsius), I find myself missing the warmth of this hotel and city tremendously. Kudos to all of you for your professionalism and top-notch service. Keep up the great work.
