Cayo Jutía is one of the most important tourist attractions of Minas de Matambre. Located in the Santa Lucia Zone and a distance of 7.2 km from the coast, is famous for its natural beauty.Unique attraction offers to the visitors, the rockfill allows the access to the mentioned place. With a length of 12 km and 15 m wide, this work is one of the largest made in the province in the 90s. This was the first rockfill built in Pinar del Rio. That route of communication with the Cayo (Key), shows the surrounding landscape composed by the wooded hills of the Sierra de los Organos, located on the east, and the white beaches of Cayo Mégano at north and of course the sea with its different shades.The rockfill has 11 bridges, the largest of them 60 meters, which allows the exchange of ocean currents to avoid destructive effects on flora and fauna. This constructive work is not only a working feat but the distinguishing seal of Northern Santa Lucia area increasingly frequented by tourists eager to enjoy its unique nature.
