        “The best in Bayamo ”
We stayed here one night for a 'fly-by' visit en route from Santiago to Trinidad. The hotel is nice and clean with a cosy colonial-style reception area with a bar - and it is situated right on the square in the centre of town. Our rooms were quite small with small bathrooms but they were clean and well-kept and the air-conditioning was working well - however the bath-rooms had an opening onto to the central hall, so the air-conditioning did not work well if the door to the bathroom was open. We had a good evening meal in the restaurant, however the breakfast was a so-so experience - not a buffet but a 'set menu' - with eggs cooked-to-order. The staff were service-minded and attentive and the experience overall was ok.

        “Small but Adequate ”
This is a small hotel which is indisputedly the best in Bayamo. Bayamo is not really on the tourist track and this hotel is used more as a stopover or for those venturing into the mountains to see Fidel Castro's hideway. The rooms are small and very clean with TV and frdge but no mini-bar for those seeking water etc. The plug in the sink worked and there was a shower. Air conditioning worked as well. Our room overlooked the main square. Breakfast was more than adequate. There were fresh rolls, a huge plate of fruit and the choice of eggs, fritos or tortilla. I asked for a cheese tortillas and got one. The staff were efficient. We also ate in the restaurant and had excellent pan-fried fish.

“Lovely hotel but the staff! ”
We stayed here for one night on a tour. The hotel is centrally located and it is a lovely building but there is no lift so heavy bags are enforced exercise. The rooms are small but well kept and the beds are comfortable. However, the staff are surly and breakfast is designed for those on a diet. For a sinlgle night stopever, the hotel is adequate.

        “Nice little hotel.”
A very nice little hotel in the historical centre of old Bayamo. The hotel is located on Parque Cespedes, which is now within a pedestrianised area of the city. This pedestrianisation excludes the vehicles with their attendant noise & fumes but not, unfortunately, the multitude of hustlers & con artists hanging about the hotel entrance to give the guests grief! Also, the pedestrianisation has made the hotel very difficult to find in a hire car through the complex of small streets, many of which are one-way! The room we had, number 301 on the second floor, was small but adequate, and all of the facilities worked well. They included a very efficient air-con system, safe, fridge, and flat screen TV. On the first floor there is a nice roof top plaza & bar offering good views over the old city, and the ground floor accommodates a small lobby bar and a separate well appointed restaurant This hotel probably represents the best in Bayamo, and I've no hesitation in recommending it to any visitors to this bustling little city

“Good location. Remember this is Cuba. ”
A pleasant hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Air conditioning didn't work well but there was a window that opened. Reading many reviews regarding aspects of Cuba I wonder if people did their research before travelling. Unless seeking out the few 5* hotels available, don't expect things to be perfect. This is Cuba. A beautiful country with beautiful people. Enjoy the people, the culture and the whole experience of a country with dual economies; hopefully a country in transition while retaining it's treasures. Re Bayamo remember that on Monday here many buildings like the Church, Museum, shops etc are closed. Historically important to the history of Cuba but a day's stay may suit most as quite a small town.

        “Best in Bayamo ”
Very nice hotel with nice clean, but very small, room. Good location, right on the square so you can take a little evening stroll. There isn't a lot to do, so I wouldn't stay for too long. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night, but it wasn't that great unfortunately.

        “Good hotel in Bayamo”
Bayamo is small city and there is no a lot of accomodation options. HOwever this hotel has a good standard and it's worth to stay here for a night. Double room costs 50CUC. It is the best hotel in Bayamo. Rooms are well-equipped, with TV and fridge. Restaurant is also very nice and not expensive.

        “Nice hotel ”
We enjoyed the bar , it was a great place to meet tourists from around the world , as this is one of the stop overs for transtour bus. The rooms are small but the beds are very comfortable and it has always been clean when we stayed there. July was busy seasone the the price was up, $70.00 CAD ,for 2 , one night. There were several people around offering Casa Particulars , we checked out a few and choose to stay in one nearby for the rest of vacation. The Artex store on the edge of the park, near the chimes, is wonderful. I have purchased 3 shower curtains, along with a few other gifts. I was thrilled to read this was originally a house,

“Hidden gem in the middle of nowhere, but ... ”
The location in the town center, the building itself, the interior decoration, the clean and airconditioned rooms, all very positive. But: - There is no elevator in this hotel. If you are on the second floor, and have to carry your bags yourself, quite an exercise ... - The food you get in the restaurant depends on what they get delivered in the morning. Sometimes not very much, but they do the best they can to prepare something decent. - I hate to admit it this time, but I had problems with staff attitude. We speak Spanish, do not behave in an arrogant way (we show as much respect and interest as possible), and try to be as generous as possible with tips. No effect at all. Hm... did we miss something ? My only explanation is that their pride prevents them from showing any exaggerated sign of friendliness nor customer care. They just do what they are told to do. - Our room was clean, had tv and airco, but was too tiny to open our luggage and walk around at the same time. - Every hour, the national anthem (Bayamesa) is played through a loud speaker system on the Plaza de la Revolución, which woke us up every hour of the night.

“A very nice centrally located hotel at a bargain price. ”
This hotel is right in the centre of Bayamo overlooking Parque Cespedes the leafy main square of the city. The room I had was very comfortable with air conditioning a flat screen tv and a radio and mini bar. The bathroom was equiped with a very good power shower (with hot water) and looked as if it had been recently refurbished. Downstairs was a comfortable bar area with a restaurant and an outside terrace for watching the activity in the square with a cold drink. There was also a private sun terrace on the roof for sunbathing. The food in the restaurant was quite good by Cuban standards and the staff were friendly and helpful. I doubt i you will find a more comfortable place to stay in Bayamo

        “Great small hotel ”
An excellent small hotel with very good staff, exactly the kind of place I like and I have been going to Cuba for 25 years. I ate the the restaurant, the food was good and resonablably priced. The town was historic and if you made contact with an artist, Rudy, who speaks perfect English, he will direct you to the best bicycle taxi's and even act as a translator at a resonable price. He works outside the hotel area. The town is very clean with lots of bars and restaurants. There is much to see if you can connect with a bicycle taxi owner, a former boxer, so you get a taxi with security bonus, although I have never seen the need for it. Another very good guide who uses cars and will go anyware is Anley Rosales Benitez. Just "Google" him and you will see his background.

        “Bayamo Bijou”
The Royalton is well located opposite of Parque Céspedes in the center of town in an area of well maintained buildings. I didn't expect too much upon arrival considering this hotel is only labelled as 2 star on many sites but from what I gathered, recent renovations have elevated this edificio into the 3 star category. I was quite impressed with the room and furnishings even though it was not large. There is no pool but a large upstairs deck for sunning and an in-house restaurant. The staff were gracious but at times a bit out-of-the-know about certain things seeing as Bayamo is not a huge tourist destination. The towns-folk almost seemed too quiet for Cubans and I did not feel any sort of sense of being hustled wherever I lurked around. The streets surrounding the park and the boulevard beyond, are blocked and traffic-free making for a quiet pedestrian-walkway atmosphere with a few shops, restaurants, bars, and even a cinema in the vicinity. At any given moment there are people sweeping the streets and square making for an almost perfect picture/postcard look that is not always equated with many parts of Cuba. A great place to spend a few relaxing days but a week or more might be too much for some who seek a more adventurous action-filled environment. One of those places that is unique in Cuba for it's own ways. A word of caution is that there is no place in town to exchange money on a Sunday which can make a hungry tourist almost like a beggar of sorts. Kind of funny, if you can imagine. If it weren't for the grace of a casa owner and a fellow tourist, it might have been a long uninteresting night. I hope to return soon......

        “A taste of History. ”
A "step back in history". Cuba "islazul" hotels has a "gem" of a property in this historical Bayamo hotel. Overlooking the spectacular courtyard, one is able to feel the warmth of this truly unique historical hotel. Shopping, restaurants, and friendly locals are within a short stride. The ambience is like no other and with the strength of the Cuban hospitality, this hotel strives to be elite. Staff, accomodations, and security were great. The church was absolutely, astonishingly beautiful. The priest was friendly as he blessed my holy cross. Cuba si! (Excellent patio bar, and front desk staff) A very "PEACHEY" holiday.
