La Redonda Lagoon is located in Ciego de Avila
It covers an area of 6910 square km (2670 square miles) and has a population of only 500,000, accounting for the lowest population density in the country. Seventy-two percent of its soil is of top quality, and 82 percent of the territory consists of a gently rolling plain. Most of the buildings in its capital city have large porticos, arcades, columns and tiled roofs. Lake La Redonda Cayo Coco
The Lake la Redonda is located in of Ciego de Ávila province, in address to Cayo Coco. La Redonda has 4,5 surface km² and an extensive net of natural channels. Is considered one of the Cuban lakes with more concentration of trouts.
It is the headquarters of the International Center of the Fishing of that species of fresh water. This lagoon has for the most part as vegetation the swamps! in fresh water! that also happens in the Lagoon of the Milk, located scarce kilometers of this, what separates it of the sea is only a small earth strip, here all the waters coming from a vast plain converge.

This small lake on Cayo Guillermo is worth visiting to experience the thick swamps, mangrove forests and alien woodlands that grow right in the placid waters of the lake. A tour on a motorboat called a 'lancha' is the best way to get out into this very atmospheric environment and really experience the attractions that the Lago La Redonda has to offer.
