A museum about the people of Varadero and tourism, they also have an Indian art collection. This museum is interesting because of its building, a beautiful blue-white chalet with earthenware tiles, is a good example of how popular the American style was in the beginning of the 20th century. The Museo Provincial de Matanzas has a more complete history of Varadero, as well as organizing cultural activities in its courtyard. On Saturdays it celebrates traditional Cuban music by presenting the Rincón Lírico band, and every third Saturday, hosts activities for children

Municipal Museum
The Municipal Museum exhibits pieces that narrate the history of the city. Personal effects, objects, documents, maps, and testimonies of Varadero's historical moments, people and patriotic figures that helped shape the town are displayed in the museum. The architecture of building alone is reason enough for a visit. Here you can admire the traditional architectural style of the city, based on vibrant colors of wood and other materials that seem to burst out from the surrounding lush tropical gardens.

Very good Joel

Municipal Museum of History of Varadero
It is a two-stories wooden facility of the beginning of the century. It can be found in its halls the first maps where the Hicacos peninsula is shown, pictographic copies of indigenous people found in the caves of the region, as well as documents on the history of Varadero. Cartographic maps of the Hicacos peninsula where Varadero beach is. Pictographs of indigenous people. Documents that provide details about Varadero.

“Varadero Museum ”
More of a cottage with a few things collected. Not much else and all info is in Spanish. Its only a dollar to get in so no big loss. Just two rooms open to the public with some furniture (looks like English furniture) and some pictures and stuffed animals/fish

“Quaint and Quirky! ”
For the price of one peso, this tucked away place really is well worth a visit, but only if you have the time. We quite enjoyed our one hour visit and tour of the bottom floor and we believe that is really all of the time that you need... at least until the top floor is finished. Just wished that... More

“Small museum not like the ones in Canada ”
Small museum in an old house. Not a lot of artifacts but still worth the visit. The cost to enter was one peso per person, and there were interesting stories by the guide.

“A Little Boring - Unless You Like This Sort of Thing ”
This museum was included on one of our tours. The tour guide spoke very little English so it was hard to understand what all was being said. There were some neat and very old items to see, and its a rather quick tour.

“Shut Down for Repairs ”
Though this place was shut down for repairs, it was just neat to hear about the history of the place. The guy seemed a little bored and in need of some tips, so he spent a lot of time with us talking to us about the family that first lived there. The taxidermy of the creatures that they have is... “An amazing old building ”
An amazing old building but could use some help with funding to get it better established. What it does have already is a great start to what I can envision of the finished project. It would make me happy to see pictures of more from this "Museo" someday in the future. There is a fee to enter but I would... More

“Sad little place ”
Such a sad place - a fantastic old beach house with a scattered few odds of sods captioned in faded Spanish. The building is in need of restoration, and deserves it. It has amazing views of the sea from the upper floor.

Very good absunguy

“History ”
This last rip to Varadero was my 1st journey to the Museum. Until this trip, I had walked by it many times not even aware it was there. But back off the main drag and tucked away in the trees is this fabulous museum that costs 1 CUC to get a tour. Many great artifacts for years gone by and... More

“Long Bus Ride ”
I would find someone to take you to Havana rather than getting on that loaded bus. It was nice kind of freaky when the bus driver stops and has to talk to the security guards with guns, especially when the passengers don't know what they were saying. The guards seldom smiled.

Very good Madco

“Lovely place! ”
If you manage to find it, it's worth a visit. It is located right on the beach to which you access via Primera Avenida and Calle 58 (or so!) facing park Josone. And right next to it you will find a small Cuban restaurant right on the beach where you can have a langouste for a very small price. Definitely... More

“Wonderful museum ”
Worth a special trip. Not enough time allowed to really see everything as we were on a bus tour and were rushed through. but saw enough to know one could spend the day there. Would visit again on my own time. Museum guides very knowledgeable with good English skills for those of us that are not able to understand much... More
